What's wrong with Lost World?

My main problem with Lost World is that starting with Silent Forest, the majority of the level design just takes a nosedive.

It's not a terrible game, but the level design needs work, and the parkour mechanic is severely.

And yeah, I didn't like how the story tried to paint Sonic as being in the wrong.

When you see something in the bad guy's hands, the logical first thought is that maybe you should take it from him. And Zavok was already planning to betray Eggman anyway, as shown in the cutscene where Eggman (and Orbot & Cubot) test the extractor. Sonic kicking the conch away just gave him the opportunity to do something he was going to do eventually anyway. Sonic handles his mistake well by acknowledging that he screwed up, and being serious about fixing it.

The only real problem I have with the plot is the Tails subplot. It's handled extremely poorly and comes out of nowhere in the middle of the game and is dropped almost immediately afterwards when Tails gets captured.

The Zeti also don't get nearly enough screentime. They're stereotypical, sure, but they're not THE most cliche villains in the series (that title goes to Black Doom). They at least have clear personality traits that could be built upon, some genuinely amusing dialogue (especially their in-level dialogue) and a motive; revenge against Eggman for enslaving them, and for the pain he caused them with the magic conch. The idea of a group of villains who lack the morals Eggman has is a good one. The lack of backstory can be forgiven; we know enough. Master Zik founded the group and was Zavok's teacher, the rest are Zavok's friends. That's more backstory than Sonic or Eggman, the main protagonist and antagonist of the series have. The problem lies in their lack of interaction with each other. Each one has a distinct trait/quirk that has potential to play off of the others quite nicely. For example, how would someone as crazed and hyperactive as Zazz interact with someone as miserable as Zor? They're supposed to be an organized group, but with the exception of Zavok and Zik, they never actually act as a group or show any kinship; they just act as a disorganized group of individuals. If that problem was fixed, they'd be a perfectly acceptable group of antagonists.
