..What is SoTSS?..

SoTSS is a twice-yearly album series of SEGA & Sonic Remixes by members of The SSMB.  Our goal is to encourage a fun, creative, collaborative environment - while building a stable & productive future for our community of fan musicians, producers, and fans.

 

 

..The INTERCEPTED TRANSMISSION..

Dear citizens of The Sonic Stadium,

Recent acquisitions by the Eggman Empire may impact your musical showcase this year as we implement new regulations and changes to our growing list of Free Auditory Experiences in your area.  The increased load on our surrounding automated systems will require the need for a one-time Blackout of your entire region and should last up to 6 months while we make improvements including:  Less Blur, All-Dark Themes, and Green-Eye Removal (only available in some locations).

> SEGA & Sonic Music Submissions are OPEN!
> The #SoTSSBLACKOUT will be released in JUNE following a live Listening Party on RadioSEGA's SEGA Mixer Drive.

 

 

..The UN-BREAKABLE Rules..
1. You MUST be a member of The SSMB with a minimum of 10 posts to contribute.
2. No Mash-Ups & No MIDI Rips (Please don't load a MIDI into your DAW and replace the instruments - that's not a remix).
3. 192kbps or higher MP3s PLEASE (the higher the bitrate, the better the quality!).
4. Only 2 Submissions per person.
5. Overall Sound quality + inclusion on the album will be determined by project lead on a track-by-track basis.
6. COLLAB's & Original tracks are welcome - but Remember! 2 Submissions per person (Based on whoever contributed more to said collab).
7. Live & Let Lie!

Well, definitely not what I was expecting! Guess I'll have to find a different theme to remix, as tropical resort isn't dark...at all

Time to look for a dark and edgy track to try and remix! Can't wait!

Hunh, I just had an idea for a remix, no idea if I can pull it off since I'm not a big instrument guy, but ya never know

Its been a while since I've taken part in this sort of thing, the last time I did was in 2011 with my Lava Reef and Competition covers (back when I was using the name Revision-One). I mean, I do like making boss themes and "evil" music as so (its not the most up to date sample but recent enough):

I maaaaaaaaaay think of this if I am not too busy with freelance artwork. I'd have to figure out a track and then see if I have time to do it.

Edit: I may not tackle a Sonic related tune, but I assume that's fine. Probably gonna do something from Arrow Flash maybe.

I've been working on a rendition of Doomsday from S3K for a while, it sounds fairly similar to the original but I've put a...more metal-esque spin on it, although I have limitations on my programming/production as I'm backpacking Australia at the moment haha. I'll put a sample up soon, and I'd like to submit a full version for consideration for the album by the end of the month, if that's alright?

I'd like to submit a track, but the only thing I'm actually good at is singing. No skill with instruments, so if anyone is willing to help me out, I'd greatly appreciate it! The track I'd like to perform is The Chosen One from Shadow the Hedgehog. Thanks in advance to whomever decides to assist me!

Could you cover All Hail Shadow? I recreated the instrumental myself and was going to sing over it for the album, I cant seem to get my vocals sounding on par though.. Do you have a reasonable microphone/studio set up for recording? If so I'll send it through

Unfortunately, I don't have that kind of range for that kind of song...sorry.
