There's a lot of early merch named 'SeaSonic the Hedgehog' so that's not strange, just curious as to if it was with his discovery or if it's just a think he owns, don't personally recognise the bag myself.

Yeah, I don't think it has anything to do with the game, "SegaSonic" was a common phrase on Japanese Sonic stuff. Super cute bag, though!

Also, a possible problem with the theory that the differently-colored Sonics evolved into Ray and Mighty is that, in SegaSonic Arcade, Mighty's shell wasn't particularly red, it was more a light red-brown.

Can anybody here or at Retro tell me when Sega stopped using the "SEGASonic" name? it had to have been in the early 90s but I'm not quite sure where.

Given how vastly different the potential mascot design was (as only an armadillo was ever in the Sonic 1 batch, not a flying squirrel), that was either a co-incidence or AM3 giving a little more care by adapting them into the Sonic style.

Mind you its been dumped, so its no longer rotting on an arcade board but the hoarder scum pretty much threatened him that if he does he will no longer be able to get rare games.

OK now the guy from that forums really is starting to piss me off.  We have a rare Sonic game that's waiting to be presented, but he says no.  What is his motivation?

It's been dumped for preservation, which is what matters most of all. 

He says he can't release it because, as far as I can tell, if he does then the people who provide him with this rare stuff to showcase won't continue sending him stuff. Basically, hoarders have him by the throat: his supply will get cut off if he releases it.

It's understandable honestly. It's a shame, but there's no need to act entitled. He didn't owe us this at all.
