Sonic Headcanons

-Eggman actually rebuilds his old badniks into house-cleaning machines. His personal favorite is the Splatz/vacuum cleaner, which he refers to as "Dust Bunny".

-The sanic t-shirt in Forces is actually just a bootleg dollar-store version of an existing Sonic t-shirt, but the Avatar likes it regardless.

-Despite being called Cheese, Cheese the chao actually hates cheese.

-Big the cat is not stupid, it's just that he's constantly thinking about something, and is too distracted to say any normal replies. Whenever he's not thinking, he's actually pretty talkative, but only Amy and Cream know that, cos they're the only ones who actually hang out with him regularly.

-Despite being all badass, Shadow actually likes playing the violin.

-There are eight emeralds in Fighters, because whenever Eggman copies a character, he also copies the emerald the character's holding. However, the 8th emerald was destroyed with the death egg mkII.

-Chemical Plant is located in Grand Metropolis.

Thats...actually pretty clever.

-Sonic Spinball take place after Classic returns home in Forces. Robotnik realizes that he lost the Phantom Ruby and tries to replicate the Chaos Emeralds, which explains why there are so many same-ey looking "Chaos Emeralds", and takes over the world (Yes, that is said in the manuals, thank you very much), with Classic having to stop him. So, essentially, Spinball is Classic Forces. (Also, Spinball technically doesn't take place in the same universe as SatAM, with Tails knowing how to pilot things, and Robotnik having his Eggman design)

-Doctor Eggman Nega is indeed from the future, and actually ended up in the Sol Dimension after experimenting too much with Chaos Control, which warped him back in time and sent him to another dimension.

-The Sol emeralds were created when Blaze sealed away Iblis in another dimension, that's why they possess fire powers and are called "Sol Emeralds", with Sol being a shorter version of the word "Solaris". The reason why Blaze was never erased is because Solaris was destroyed, while being in Sonic's dimension. That also explains why she remembers Crisis City in Generations.

Proof:

Quote

-There must be something anchoring him in this dimension! (C) Eggman, Solaris Phase 2.

-Sonic's second favorite thing to do is to run on water, to prove to himself that his greatest fear is nothing compared to his speed.

In the modern timeline, when Sonic went through the events of the "classic" games, he resembled his old SA Dreamcast model.

The reason Eggman still has a little bit of the world in his possession is through propaganda because of Classic’s destruction of Little Planet, painting him as the enemy.

-The Flickies are actually far descendants of the Babylonians that devolved some time after the starship crashed down. They can transport themselves using Chaos Energy, but don't really know how to do it.

-Doctor Robotnik form AoSTH is actually just a caricature, used for mobian propaganda.

-Tails Doll is actually just a hand-made Tails plush made by Amy, that Eggman stole and remade into a drone.

-The reason Eggman can run fast in Sonic 2 and SA2 is because he actually tried to make HIMSELF the ultimate life form at first, but something went wrong and he only achieved these results.

Archie/Post-SGW: Rotor still has his yellow cap, but prefers not to wear it out in the field. It was the last thing his mother gave to him before she died, so it's incredibly sentimental to him.

I just thought up another: The Super Genesis Wave changed how the Sonic multiverse works. Now, every iteration of Sonic has its own universe, consisting of multiple dimensions. (The Game universe has Modern, Classic, and Blaze's dimensions, Boom has its main dimension, the Mirror world, and Lord Eggman's world, etc.) Each universe is cosmically independent of the others, and travel between them is all but impossible.

Once the multiverse finally does collapse, the remains will become a screen reading “PRODUCED BY OR UNDER LICENCE FROM SEGA ENTERPRISES LTD”, and one would hear a very slowed-down Nokia jingle in the background. This collapse will happen upon the end of Boom.

* West Side Island is an economic and industrial powerhouse. Metropolis, Oil Ocean, and Chemical Plant Zones all existed before Robotnik came.

* Tails's mutation is not mystical. He was born really close to the Chemical Plant Zone!

* If you get the bad ending in Sonic CD, then Dr. Robotnik dies in his eggmobile's explosion.

* The robotic Sonics were all built for different purposes. Metal Sonic, to match Sonic's speed. Silver Sonic, to match Sonic's power and combat skill. Mecha Sonic, to match Sonic's ingenuity (piloting machinery).

* Knuckles was an egg when the ancient echidna civilization was destroyed. The emeralds caused him to have an extremely long incubation before hatching in modern times.

* As said in Sonic 3, Knuckles is Guardian of the Chaos Emeralds. Their natural home has always been on Angel Island alongside the Master Emerald, but they periodically disappear, and Knuckles enters the special stages to retrieve them. That's why he's a skilled treasure hunter. In Sonic 1, he was only able to recover one emerald - Sonic found the other six. In Sonic 2, the hedgehog found all seven. When Robotnik "tricked" Knuckles, he wasn't lying completely - Sonic really had stolen his island's emeralds!

* The Death Egg crash didn't cause Angel Island to fall. It was already slowly falling because the Chaos Emeralds had been gone a long duration.

* The Super Emerald forms and hyper powers are possible, but they have never been discovered. Sonic 3 and then S&K are canon - not S3&K.

* During Sonic's S&K story, Tails is in Azure Lake and the other multiplayer levels. Knuckles is seen less frequently during this story because he is frantically launching attacks against Sonic, Tails, and Robotnik (who betrayed him at Launch Base) on different parts of the island.

* After the end of Knuckles' S&K story, he and Sonic reach an understanding about the Chaos Emeralds. Sonic's time on Angel Island has bonded him to it in a strange way: Sonic was able to turn into Super Sonic without the Emeralds, so long as they were securely on the island's pillars (we see this in S&K). And Angel Island can float without the Chaos Emeralds, somehow because of the way Sonic interacted with their positive energy while on the island. Knuckles realizes this and declares that Sonic is a trusted carrier and safe harbor for the Chaos Emeralds. But NOT the Master Emerald, of course.

* Why isn't Knuckles guarding the Master Emerald right now 24/7? Well, he's either keeping an eye on the Chaos Emeralds and their trusted carrier Sonic (e.g. Sonic Heroes) or he's making sure no one threatens the Master Emerald through a special stage backdoor (e.g. Knuckles Chaotix in the Japanese manual story).

* When Sonic went back in time on the Little Planet, his deeds became legendary. They spread to the ancient echidna of Angel Island, who crafted statues and tapestries of the mythical hedgehog. Gerald was inspired by these to create Shadow. Thus, Shadow was a copy of Sonic made 50 years before Sonic's birth.

High quality headcanons. I especially like the Knuckles one, very clever.

It's harder to reconcile with the Adventure series because of how indifferent he seems to the Chaos Emeralds. But I assume he would've still fought Eggman/Chaos over that Emerald in the early part?

And I notice that he was in possession of 6/7 the Emeralds before the final story.

Due to Worlds Unite, McKinley High School is now populated by Echidna Reploids for whatever reason. They function akin to standard human reploids rather than Mutos Reploids. The entire Glee series happened in a very... Penders light.

Sticks will probably become a fan of Growing Around.

Master Zik attempted to teach all of the Deadly Six, but only Zavok were truly smart enough, powerful enough, and disciplined enough to take it in.

Out of the less serious Zeti, Zor came the closest to meeting Zik's criteria, but chose a different, less acceptable path.

-Amy & Sonic go on dates regularly but nobody notices, Amy has the easiest levels in Heroes due to actually being stronger then the other teams, she can run faster then Shadow but her boots slow her down, Amy is the real leader in Sonic Forces but said its Knuckles to keep down arguments.

"Remember when we used to just hunt wendigos and how simple things were?" -Sam Winchester, Supernatural, "Two Minutes to Midnight"

So I'm toying with an idea. There's no way it's going to be officially true, ever, because it is crackpot. Really really crackpot. But it's becoming attractive to me. And it comes down to two points:

1) The Phantom Ruby is the final, dying essence of Solaris's consciousness. A fading echo, a ghost lingering before finally disappearing into nothingness.

2) Classic Sonic and his world, as they appear in all recent games, are all illusions of the Phantom Ruby.

latest?cb=20141202031100

Solaris never grew into the above image. It was never more than a tiny, fragile flame. The "flame of hope". Until it was snuffed out in its infancy by Princess Elise, with Sonic by her side.

But the Flame of Hope, even so young, peers and stretches across space and time. It sees all pasts and presents, all good futures and bad futures, all possibilities of reality. And even though its flame of life was extinguished so young, Solaris knew it was meant for a greater story. And as it saw all possible realities and futures, as it searched for the cosmic "why?" of its premature death, it saw who was responsible: Sonic the Hedgehog. The hedgehog Solaris had destroyed and yet who was now destroying Solaris.

The tiny red orb that never fully formed (and yet did form in a manner beyond space and time) was Solaris's consciousness and core. It bonded to Sonic, as so many objects and individuals do. And as Sonic stood by Elise that day, just before the princess blew Solaris into oblivion and unmade the reality it was destined to wreak, the flame of hope looked into the hedgehog's mind. He looked into Sonic's deepest longing of the moment. What was Sonic thinking about at that very moment?

When Elise blew out Solaris, Sonic was thinking about how simpler things used to be when he was just running on islands and fighting Eggman. Before monsters like Chaos started appearing.

Then Solaris was no more. But its tiny, evolving consciousness grasped for something to hold onto, for a reason to exist, a wish to fulfill. It lingered in our plane as a Phantom.

The Phantom tried to recreate Sonic, Eggman, and the moments he had seen in Sonic's mind. The Death Egg Robot especially. It liked the Death Egg Robot. We call this Sonic 4: Episode I. But this created reality was crude, awkward.

It tried to fine-tune this world with Tails and Metal Sonic. It tried to craft connections and continuity to its lands and characters. Episode II. But something still felt wrong. So the experimenting Phantom allowed this illusion, this "Mirage Island", to vanish.

That's when it found Eggman, the real Eggman floating in space. How exciting! It looked into Eggman's mind and bonded, just as it had with Sonic. It felt Eggman's fury, his regret over so many past mistakes. And it created a new series of illusions to match Eggman's subconscious wishes - manifested as a creature that Eggman called "Time Eater". Eggman thought he was passing through time, but he was creating new realities. And it was with relish that the Phantom (through Time Eater) gave life first to a new Green Hill and a new Sonic, and it went on from there. Classic Sonic was born. His world and substance had been formed by Sonic's and Eggman's nostalgia, funneled through the Phantom's curiosity. Generations.

And then, the Phantom's consciousness manifested again as a small, red orb that would eventually be called a Ruby. In the throes of mania, it reached out and expanded its bold world... from Green Hill and Chemical Plant came also Hydrocity and Metallic Madness. From Eggman and Tails and Metal Sonic came also Knuckles and Fang and Knuckles. The Ruby even shaped new lands and personalities. And the Ruby's own creations fought to possess it, oh yes, until its time was drawing to a close. As a final act, it reached out to the real existing world one final time with its favorite creation: its own Sonic.

In Forces, the Ruby was in its last death rattles. It shifted and turned the existing world. It thrust its virtual idea of Green Hill upon Shadow. It thrust its virtual idea of Sonic at Eggman - even while providing Eggman and Infinite's own wishes as illusions. Nobody really understood what this other Sonic was. A past version? Some other dimension? But as Classic Sonic ran, he reshaped the actual world to match the type that the virtual hedgehog was made to live in.

And finally, by the time Phantom Ruby's echo had faded for good, it had lived the full adventure it had wanted. It got to die within the Death Egg Robot, facing Sonic alongside his own Sonic illusion. Then it was gone. And so were its illusions.

Including its own version of Sonic.

The "Beans" of Beanville are, in fact, descended from Puyos that somehow ended up on Mobius in ancient times. Puyos have also found their way to other universes/realities, such as that of Kirby.

I just remembered another one of mine - that the Omochao were created by Dr. Gerald Robotnik to serve as guides for people on the ARK, and somehow some of them were stored with Shadow and were set free when Eggman freed him, and now they give guidance about anything for whatever reason. Gives a touch of sadness to the annoying over-helpful guys, I suppose :P

The Death Egg, being Little Planet, is the reason why Sonic was not phased by the torture. The torture felt much shorter to him while inside the Death Egg. And the reason you can’t see those purple things around the egg is that Eggman added new plating.

And going by Classic Sonic belonging to the Ruby, his destruction of Little Planet and the deaths of innocents was entirely his fault. As was making Tails dependent, possibly giving Knuckles all the terrible military orders, and maybe even ensuring the Chaotix weren’t paid.
