So what is the Sonic XStream you ask? It's exactly as the title says. The Sonic XStream is going to be a weekly showing of Sonic X episodes on Taima where you can join in with your fellow SSMBers and watch all of the funny failures the show made, and all of the successes it's made. There's likely going to be riffing, and plenty of taking the piss out of the show. For those who also don't know, this show is an entire mess to watch in the UK as it's never been seen in the UK since like 2009, so for those in the UK and others who haven't seen Sonic X in a while, this is a perfect chance for you to do so. 

Sonic X is a long show, and it's got a few arcs but if you happen to miss any episodes during the streams, I'll happily write up quick episode summaries after every stream so the stream will always be easily accessible. That said however, the Sonic XStream will be a limited event as once an episode is watched, it will not be repeated, so it's up to you to catch up if you miss an episode.

Sonic OVA, Coming July 22nd to Sonic XStream

 

There's only one more thing to discuss. 

Sonic XStream is Ending.

Yeah, so for those who haven't heard the announcement, and as you probably could have guessed anyway, Sonic XStream is closing up it's doors. The Sonic OVA airing on July 22nd will be XStream's final night. This is not the end of SSMB's Sonic Shows however.

Sonic XStream was always meant to be exclusively for Sonic X. Now that the show is ending, there isn't much point keeping it going. This week, and next week will be two special nights which will allow us to conclude Season 3. After that, XStream will fully conclude on July 22nd with the crossover between myself and @Felix's Movie Night where we will be viewing the Sonic OVA

As for what's to come? Well, while XStream is gone, It's also got a spiritual successor (And we aren't gonna make you cry like an anime fan on prom night, like other spiritual successors, thanks Inafune). That is where FriPM comes in. Sonic FriPM is gonna be a stream of Sonic SatAM and will be taking the place of XStream. It's official premiere? July 22nd. Yep, Sonic XStream's final showing of Sonic OVA will lead into the official debut of Sonic FriPM. More details of FriPM is here:

 

For all of XStream's fans, it's been a good ride. It's been fun looking at this show, and seeing the many low points, and seeing it's few high points, and I hope you guys will join us for FriPM. Until next time.

Yeah. While things are stupidly censored in the English dub, I'd rather use that instead of making people read subtitles. If it is the English dub, it would mean people can listen to the episodes in the background while doing other things.

Yeah, that's a good reason why. It would be too inconvenient if you were constrained to looking at the monitor the whole time. =P

Also, in my opinion, much of the fun of watching the show is because of the crappy, cheesy dub. 

Plus, you know, the English dub has Mike Pollock, so automatic win.

NEXT TIME ON SONIC X

After Dr. Eggman acquires the Chaos Emeralds, and kidnaps the young bunny Cream, along with her pet chao Cheese. Sonic and his friends begins to storm his base in search of them. Sonic as usual charges ahead to fight the evil doctor, but when Eggman attempts to use the emeralds, the machine malfunctions, causing a massive flash of light around the base. When Sonic awakens, he finds himself in a strange new world. Where there were forests and lakes, there's now highways and buildings. Sonic must survive in this strange new world and figure out what is going on, while under pursuit of The Speed Team!

I'll always have a bit of nostalgic fondness for this show, since it was the first Sonic cartoon I ever watched (I remember, as a kid, finding out Sonic existed beyond video games just blew my freakin' mind), but, yeah, this show is pretty bad (not that it doesn't have a few good moments, like the Project Shadow arc, which I think was actually handled really well), and I think I might like to rip it up it with you guys.

I've been watching the Japanese version of Sonic X lately. This is actually a great idea especially if you're airing the dub, since that gives me the opportunity to watch it and compare it to the original without going completely out of my way for it, and so that I don't suffer through it alone

Eh, why not? I haven't seen the show since I was like 13 years old. Didn't like it that much then and I doubt I'll like it now. Re watching it with others and criticizing everything that went wrong with the anime would be fun experience.
