Remove the background and it's probably fine, though I personally don't think it captures anything specific about Sonic 4.

Well the pose itself was traced from Sonic 4's ending poses.

This is just a practice thing, but I am intending for Sonic to look just about the same as this in my final picture. I showed this before in statuses but I may as well show this here to show what I have so far XP. It is intended to look close to the Naoto Oshima concept art style. There will be more in the picture than this too, but it will be handrawn and I will take a picture of it like all my normal stuff. Is that okay? It will be coloured and everything when finished.

To be fair, I'm not sure Sonic 4 has a lot of specifics to work with. The first episode is largely a throwback to the first and second games, and I guess Episode II has Metal Sonic in it? (haven't actually played Ep. II) You COULD probably reference a specific gimmick (the torch or something) to tie it in better, though as sansy points out, the pose itself is based on the ending pose of Sonic 4 and resembles the model used in that game, at the least.

i'd say that perhaps someone could work in some 1 or 4 of the episode 1 stages into the background and we might could put the sonic pose on top of it

The pieces aren't supposed to have backgrounds, so that's why I suggested a particular gimmick. Or perhaps a particular enemy that ties it in directly to Sonic 4. The only downside is that means she may have to change her drawing altogether, but if lack of specificity is an issue, that's the only thing I could suggest that still stays within the bounds of the guidelines.

Hand drawn and colored is fine, just, as per content guidelines, make sure there's no background or leave it blank so that I can remove it myself.  Also, that looks great so far! =D

Nope, hand drawn is definitely okay.  It's a little harder to edit in, but it's fine lol.

Hey, guys, I thought I'd make a quick update to show you guys what your art will probably look like in the actual video.  Secret Rings admittedly isn't a very good example because it's a little bit harder to see the edits I made, but on the lower borders, you can see the white gradient, and obviously you can see the title and the year.  And this is why I need your images to be a transparency.  A full background picture wouldn't look good over gameplay footage.

So I don't know how far you guys are into your works, but try to keep this format in mind.  Your image doesn't have to take up the whole space that YoshiUnity's does, and in fact, everyone will probably have a different ratio depending on a wide variety of factors, including the title of the actual game (which in this case had to be shrunk just to fit the screen), size of the art, etc.  I was talking to Nepenthe about it earlier and she likened her work to a T-shirt design and I think that's a good way to look at it.

Thanks again for all your hard work, guys.  I'm not the best video editor (and I've only recently started using something more advanced than Windows Movie Maker) but the art and footage you guys have sent me alone should make it look awesome regardless of how badly I put them together! ^^

I'm going to hold off on editing the rest of the art in for now, because I plan on attempting to do a stream where you guys can see your art being inserted in real time.  Just something to look and say "hey, I did that!" and feel involved in the process and whatnot.  And also, because again, I don't have much time to work on it right now, but I did take a little bit of time out to put this mock-up together.  At this point, the video editing is mainly a matter of applying all the right templates.  I look forward to working on it a little more.

As for the actual song, I let a select few people listen to it and they really enjoyed it, so I hope that you guys won't be disappointed, either.  I'm contemplating re-recording the lead and rhythm guitar parts.  I've recorded at least 100 different takes on different amp settings and it's been hard to decide which ones I like best.  Just to show how that's going, it's still a bit in the demo phase and has a lot of mixing and mastering left to do, but that shouldn't take too long.

Yeah, that looks like it will be fine.  It's no problem if you don't but if you have access to a scanner, that would be my preferred method of uploading the picture.  But again, it's cool if you don't.
