Dewey is the most interesting of the triplets

Eh, I guess, if you say so.

thanks to his mother search subplot and eventual payoff that develops his character, so no definitely a great character.

That is a least a distinction between that and this show, from what I've heard.

Like, is any character besides Sergeant Hatred and Principal 100-100(Cheese and rice...) given any backstory and/or motivational arc?

As for Mark well obviously it depends on wether or not you like Internet humor.

Yeah, I don't actually mind him since that's kinda the point and he's a villain anyway.

Why does he look like a bug

That's what I said, But apparently he now has laser blades instead.

I do like how his legs look like a pair of scissors, but I think there's too much blades here.

Most of the robot masters are nice and simple, why do they want to add so much?

To distinguish them more.

Oh yes, because of course the original designs were so hard to tell apart:

That just doesn't hold water.

In context of the show's designs, dingus.

Hence the "more."

In fairness, for me I think Cut Man hasn't aged particularly well as a design; "normal guy with a pair of scissors on his head" doesn't really cut it for me (pun, I'm sorry to say, quite intended).  If anything, the Fully Charged incarnation doesn't go far enough; though the scissor handle legs are a nice, relatively subtle touch.

That's 5 out of 6 from the first Mega Man game now, only one more to go from that game, and that is Bomb Man. (Unless he never shows up in MM:FC)

Cutman looks like he sliced up Boomer Kuwanger from the X series and is wearing pieces of him around.

I suppose it would be too much to hope that Terry Klassen reprised his role as Cut Man from the 90s cartoon? I mean, he is the voice director of the show...

EDIT: Saw the ep. He didn't. Sadness.

Seems like the show is on a slow death path in the UK, still stuck in it's 3:30am death slot and only repeating the same 10 episodes over and over again in a loop.

A mild shame, since they managed to pull off another decent episode with Cut Man.

Like Wood Man, he's actually an interesting character despite the radical changes made to him. His OCD is something I find myself relating to quite a bit, and it leads to a surprisingly good moral of not letting minor flaws ruin your love for something/someone. Plus his theme gets a good remix (They even incorporated some of the Smash 4 version), and he puts up a passable fight by using Sword Man's schtick alongside his own.

Unfortunately, Mini's pace-breaking and the obligatory perfect- and cutting-themed puns keep this episode from exceeding "alright". (Though hearing Cut Man get annoyed with Mega's bad puns is pretty funny in a meta sense)

So now the score's 2-22. Can this show produce any more decent content before its plug is pulled? I'm still skeptical, but I'd be happy if they proved me wrong.

Might just give that and Namagem a watch when I get the time.

Don't bother with the latter: Aside from being able to hold more weapons at a time, we learn absolutely nothing about him. And unlike Bass or Proto Man, he's completely forgettable as a rival.

OH, before I forget: Someone got a screenshot of "Man Man" from today's episode:

Alright, that's pretty clever. Spoke too soon.

I don't really keep up with the show personally, so I'm really just picking whatever else seems vaguely convenient/notable to sample.

Thanks for spoilin, though.

I don't know, I mean obviously I'm not a specialist on the subject but I found it really insulting that Cut Man's OCD can suddenly be overcome by a generic moral speech from Mega Man, if the show wants to explore this topic then it should have handled this with more tact and effort.

Overcoming a bad habit isn't just flipping a switch. It's a long, difficult process. Is a drug addict completely cured the day they realize they have a problem?

The episode ends with

Spoiler

Cut Man going to therapy to treat his disorder, which sounds pretty realistic to me. He's not over it- he's just taken the first step.

So it seems "Man Man" is attracting a lot of attention and praise:

I never grew up with BBA Megaman (and some memes like Gutsman's butt), so I'm just scratching my head watching all these people get excited...

Yeah the Man Man episode is actually the best one so far if you ask me, some of the jokes involving him were genuinely witty and for once the moral didn't come across as forced as usual. It's an alright episode all around, nothing special but by this show's standards that's an accomplishment.

Bass feels like a bit of a joke in-universe because his entire motivation is to prove his strength, which nobody (Mega Man, Dr. Wily, et al.) seems to care whether he does or not.

I don't think he's a great character, but I prefer him over his Battle Network incarnation where he is quite literally Shadow the Hedgehog.

The only time Bass has been considered to be a joke is in the Mega Mix Manga where nobody takes him seriously constantly calls him an idiot. In game universe it's weird because he's highlighted as Mega Man's rival despite the fact that they've teamed up more times than they have fought each other.

Yeah, that's the gist I get when I actually thought about him.

Like, I'm not much of a Megaman person--bits of NT Warrior and later Dies At The End were the only memorable exposure I had for the longest--, but Bass just seems rather ...there, in terms of what story the series has.

Megaman 8 in particular comes to mind.

I did hear about that. Wow.

That just furthers the impression that he's there because that's the trend with these types of series.
