MOVIE NIGHTS ARE BACK, TELL A FRIEND!

You all have no idea how good it feels to say that after so long.

So yes, after quite a long hiatus, SSMB Movie Nights, a long time weekly staple here in the community, are finally back in business! A time where members can come together on an average Friday night, hang out, and watch a film of our choice all while having a great experience. Time for a simple Q&A to get you all up to speed as to how these will work, in case you haven't attended one. Besides that, I will have to introduce some new measures.

Q: When will these be occurring?

Every Friday at 7:00 PM EST/11:00 PM GMT. Around an hour or half an hour before that time, we'll most likely be watching random videos and such in prelude to our movie night. Sometimes, shorts will be played before certain films. *wink wink*

Q: Where do I go to attend Movie Night?

Here over at MOTOBUG! It's already been used for many SSMB streaming events in the past, and now I'm partnering up with @The Deleter to host this weekly event!

Q: How will the movies we watch each week be chosen?

Each week, there is a theme of movies that lead up to the penultimate Friday where we finally watch our film. You have to choose out of the batch of films which one you want to see most for Movie Night. (ex. Comic book movies - Batman, Watchmen, Deadpool, Spider-Man, etc.). The website we will use for voting is Strawpoll.

Q: Can we watch lewds?

No.

Q: Am I able to suggest movies or movie themes?

Anytime, anywhere. Though leaving a comment on my profile would be the best way to get my attention.

So I should probably do some clarification for XStream. Motobug (which includes myself and @The Deleter as the managers of Motobug) has teamed up with Felix for Movie Nights. Up until the 22nd, the schedule for XStream will remain the same (5 episodes per night running from 5:00pm EST/10:00pm GMT) with Movie Night starting up at 7:00pm EST. When I start the next series on XStream, the number of episodes will be cut down to around 3 or 4 episodes per night, to allow Movie Night to start earlier).

As for that, might as well confirm it now that Felix's has announced. My recent announcement about XStream's showing of the Sonic OVA was secretly a crossover event between Movie Night and XStream (I've known about the comeback for at least a week or so :D), so on the 22nd of July, XStream and Movie Night will be crossing over for a stream of Sonic the Hedgehog: The Movie!

Ladies, gentlemen, please. If you truly wish to witness something so horrendously god-awful for an SSMB Movie Night, might I present to you The Adventures of Food Boy?

So over the past year I've developed a masochistic taste for bad, bad movies—Birdemic, Foodfight, Cool Cat, even The True Story of Puss in Boots starring Will Shatner to name a few (still haven't seen The Room yet, gotta fix that)—and then a dear friend of mine pointed this delightful little film out to me, available to watch right now on Netflix Canada.

Wanna know how bad it is?

I've started watching this movie around a month ago, and I'm only 30 minutes in. Not in one sitting, god no, I'd never manage; it's gotten so awful that I can't digest more than a minute or two of this piece of crap at a time. I can't stomach this movie. I still haven't finished it. Why?

It stars the most cardboard character tropes you can imagine in the most overdone high school movie-setting plot you've seen a million times, the most 35 year old-looking teen I've ever seen playing the role of the most cardboard high school bully tropes, the most disgusting waste of good food I've ever seen period, an obnoxious soundtrack trying so hard to be cool that it puts made-for-TV "teen" movies to shame, and the food powers... good fucking lord. There's no digesting this wholly and coming out alive. There is so much wrong with it.

That said, I suggest Food Boy! ∠( ᐛ 」∠)＿

in fact i think someone uploaded the entire thing to youtube. hint hint

Yeah, Felix and Movie Nights are back! Unfortunately, I don't have any suggestions for what to watch, since I believe some of us are in favor for the greatest that is the Rapping Dog from Titanic: The Animated Musical.
