I'm kind of expecting them to go with the "Sonic Resistance" title I've seen people refer to it as ever since the reveal. Makes the most sense with the "Join the resistance" tagline (and at least gives me hope that the game isn't just two Sonics running around rescuing their cheering squad again because fuck that). That and they can avoid people saying "it actually is a sequel to Generations" with a new title.

I KIND of hope it isn't Sonic Resistance?  I dunno, it doesn't roll off the tongue, it's not a strong name.  Plus "resistance" has too many connotations/meanings that are negative in the context of the Sonic franchise (namely "resistance" is not a word that suggests streamlined or fast mental imagery).

Contrast to Mania, which screams fun times and frantic gameplay.

We've had a lot of Sonic R-somethings already anyway. Rush, Rivals, Riders, Runners, and of course Sonic R itself. Give another letter a chance.

I heard Sonic Resistance thrown around a lot. I don't know what to speculate, I mean, this whole thing has been pretty tightly kept under wraps. I actually think that all the focus being directed at Mania has to do with that.
