I've been trying to faceswap my face with a sonic plush that i have. Its not going well, i can't find an app that works

I use photoshop, but it's not cheap. It's a lengthy process to copy and paste character's faces around, and edit them to try to seemingly blend in with the other character's shape and color scheme. It takes a lot of time, patience, and precision to make it look right. How can making something so wrong turn out so right? ?
