No details as to the reason. Though I have been told one reason as to why only suspect it's a two sides to every story kind of deal.

Store is to shut down in a few days time.

Not that surprising given how their one week sale lasted for 4 months.

Yep, saw this and posted a tip to TSS. It's a shame but they really never had much great stuff (Limited Editions certainly kept coming back over and over).

It was particularly bad for US fans.  Their US site constantly had less stock and less interesting items yet still cost an exuberant amount (even before shipping).  I feel bad that the official merch store is closing but also don't feel too upset when Amazon fulfills my needs both domestic and internationally much better.

SonicMerchandise.com has been on its last legs for months, I've seen hardly anything on that site recently, and the cost of shipping to Australia put me off buying anything. Not surprised its closing down, when I can easily get stuff off Ebay.
