Sorry. I do care about whether it's new or isn't, I'm just probably going to be happy regardless of the result. I'm not trying to get a rise out of anyone, I literally only ask the question because the leadup to this thing has jerked us back and forth to the point where it's honestly hilarious to me.

I mean I love the FFs to return, but I also love ther nu252 designs and would loathe if all this wait led to some ugly STC redesign people won’t even recognize, why just her anyway? This isn’t the Mecha Sally era where we worry what to happens to her, this is a new comic where are looking foward to new characters.

Dunno why the hell she’d be gray all of a sudden anyway.

Pretty sure it's a wispon, You can clearly see that the direction Sally(?) is in is opposite to Sonic, in which case her tail would be in the same direction her face is in and pretty massive at that. 

Sally or not, assuming it's a resistance member, it makes sense for that to be the Burst wispon, it was the one the avatar starts out with so it'd make sense for a standard issue weapon for resistance members. 

But yeah, it does look like Post reboot Sally, and upon inspection of the hand, it's clearly a gloved hand with the part we all originally believed to be a yellow piece of fur appears to be shading. And given that the mystery character is pointing opposite to Sonic, it's possible that small tuff above the hand is the tail, which IIRC - Sally also had a short tail.

I’d rather take a spiritual successor instead.

If nothing in the old series happened in this one, isn't it basically a spiritual successor anyway?

Xenoblade X made me really confused as to what does and does not constitute spiritual successors so I legit can't say for sure.

 

Also, I don't think that's a wispon she's got there. It looks like it has hair on it, seems to have a hole in it (peeking into the red background) and doesn't resemble any of the wispons we've seen.
