Well, she did let him out anyway. At best she was joking. At worst, she was mature to realize 'no' means 'no'.

That example isn't as extreme as the one Panda gave and was said as more of a joke. Regardless of such, it was most definitely a case of bad timing, and in Heroes especially, it was absolutely not "just doing it for reactions". She literally attacked Sonic in an attempt to force him to marry her, when Sonic was trying to stop Eggman's time limited plan. That isn't just "for the laughs".

Uh, the second boss fight of the game where Amy holds out a hammer, says "There's no way you're getting out of marrying me" and proceeds to attack Sonic, Tails and Knuckles while dragging Big and Cream into the fight?

What hammer? She didn't drag Big and Cream in to a fight they joined in.

If your best defense is nitpicking the details of the cutscene instead of the actual canon fight that occurs because Amy flat out tells Sonic she's going to marry him, then it's not a very good defense. It's been awhile since I saw the cutscene, so I'm misremembering her holding her hammer, but her going into a fight over Sonic not wishing to marry her when he's chasing Eggman for that matter is pretty damn clear.

Let's not mention things such as creating a fake boyfriend in order to get Sonic to be jealous and try to steal her back (Chronicles), The aforementioned actions in Battle etc etc.

Its more about being shy as the teams could join up to stop Eggman. And you also have Knuckles saying "Are you still playing with that girls heart" in the casino level.

I don't recall that being said in the casino level, but if you mean the "are you playing with that girls heart again, Sonic?" line in the battle itself, that line is completely different in Japanese (he's sarcastically calling Sonic "boyfriend material")

The fight is non-canon the cutscene is canon. What's bad about a fake boyfriend he was gone a long time and she missed him. I, can't see how Amy is aforementioned in Battle or other games.

I can't read Japanese and I got that line in the level not the battle. If he said that then he's right Sonic is bad boyfriend material with the way he runs off without telling anyone.

Nonono, Knuckles teases him about being boyfriend material, because Sonic has a lover constantly after him.

Sonic's friends aren't encouraging the relationship (nor do they really care...)

Recall that Team Rose came together because Amy decided to help Cream&Cheese and Big find Froggy and Chocola, who had seemingly been swiped by Sonic. While Amy definitely had skewed priorities for a bit when they actually did find Sonic(which Knuckles and later Cream poke at), she got her act together after Sonic escaped and Tails at least made the effort to inform them that Sonic was innocent.

They thought Sonic had them at first, hence why they all agreed that tracking him down was the best course of action. During the actual encounter however, Amy was more focused on her infatuation on him while Cream and Big have the proper conflict.

Granted, I don't remember Sonic or Amy talking much during the bossfight, but still.

Remember that on Sonic Heroes, they did the game first, then they did the story. (unlike SA1 and SA2).

So of course you'll see some irrational actions.

For example, Sonic and Shadow's reunion would not be like that if it was written like SA2.

Not to mention she completely ditched her teammates after seeing Sonic at the end of their campaign, and then again after Metal Overlord's defeat. And even when fighting the Egg Emperor, her main motivation was that Eggman was apparently the only reason she and Sonic weren't together.

Yeah, their fight is probably the most contrived and motivation-less of any of the Team fights.

Most of the Teams have clashing goals, hostile accusations, or generally just some sort of misunderstanding. Nah, these two specifically see each other and their inclination is to throw down with each other. Despite Sonic personally having Shadow's turnaround as an experience and Shadow not really remembering who Sonic is.

 

As a side note, it always kinda bothered me that Omega went relatively un-commented on throughout the series despite being an E-series robot that didn't care for Sonic or Eggman. Or anyone not named Shadow or Rouge, for that matter.

They had a clue in the newspaper that could lead to Sonic but still wanted to see him again. Amy had a proper conflict out of her love for Sonic and willingness to help her friends focusing on Sonic is one of the things she came to do.

I know. It's just that people have a point when they say she was too hyperfocused on that at times, as @Forte-Metallix further reminded me.
