I didn't want to watch this at first. I wanted to see it when I first got my hands on the game.

Needless to say, I caved. But you know what? It was worth it.

It's been 23 long years.

Welcome back, Sonic.

Exaggerating much?

Depends on who you ask. For people who could never see modern Sonic as the original Sonic... It's not a exaggeration for them.

While I like the modern Sonic series in it's own right... I do admit they feel nearly like different game series to me. So in a way yes... Original Sonic is back! xD

The animation is really nice. I don't care for the music, though. I think CD's as a whole is better, but I do love Hesse's style.

CD has the environment traversal advantage...

This could've definitely used more rolling around at the speed of sound...

I noticed a funny detail! The Heavy Leader turns to look at the Heavy Gunner, and you can see the Heavy Gunner's eyes shift as if it's saying "...Who, me?"

Oh, Tyson.

If you interpret that as classic Sonic's return and not Sonic in general, not really

For many, Sonic was dead to them after Sonic Adventure was released, this game feels like continuation from 1994. Long fucking time ago.

As much as I enjoy the Modern games in the series, they do not represent what I grew up with, Mania does.

And at the same time the game looks like a true AAA experience.

It looks gorgeous, but is it the full intro or just a sneak peek? I wish it was longer.

Btw, the HBH designs are awesome, way better team than the Deadly Six already.

Nah

Sonic's been dead for 23 years

You can tell I'm super serious about this because I'm absolutely super serious about everything

Sonic sucks anyway, why be happy about it, it's all just exaggerated

Words can't express how happy I am for the Sonic 3 and Sonic & Knuckles revealed zones.

By the way, as Sonic & Knuckles will have 2 zones, I assume Sonic 3 will have 2 as well.

So it's likely going to be 2 zones per game, which makes 10 reimagined zones, and (apparently) 5 new zones, for a total of 15 zones, if not more (maybe the final zone is a new one as well).

The next 4 days are going to feel like months! I wish Sega had published the game today, as I not only have the weekend, but also Monday and Tuesday to play.

I think it's the second half. The first one was the reveal trailer.

So is this confirmed? About it being 2 halves that become 1 in the game? I wish there was more, like showing the other HBHs or more zones.

Also, 5 new zones since the HBHs are bosses in those, plus maybe a brand new final zone. 6 new zones, and we know the zone ratio is 60% old and 40% new. So 8 old zones and 6 new? Or 7 old and 5 new?

Old zones must be 10, 2 per game (1, 2, 3, &K and CD), counting Sonic 3 and Sonic & Knuckles as separate games. Or maybe it's 3 zones from Sonic 3 & Knuckles.

The only way to know is to check that other SPOILERS thread, but I don't want to XD I'm more than pleased with this small reveal until Tuesday :)

I know, this is just speculation. If there are 10 old zones and the ratio is 60% old and 40% new it must mean 8 new zones perhaps? That would really be a big game.

I could take it anymore. I saw the opening. I wont spoil myself with the stream even if I spoiled myself on some of the unrevealed zones I want my eyes to experience the layout themselves.

The opening was beautiful and I've seen it like 20 times already.

That was great. Can't believe this series doesn't do traditionally-animated openings more often; I really liked CD's and Riders', and I'm glad they're doing it again here.

The fact that this was directed by the same guy that created the Nipples the Enchilada comic will never cease to amaze me. Tyson Hesse can do no wrong.

Ah, wouldn't it be great to have a cartoon series done in the style of that intro video? Either way, very nice looking opener, they really nailed that Sonic CD feel!

I found a version of the opening running through a Mega CD. Pretty Cool!
