I don't think anyone's suggesting this is particularly bad for Forces; just that it's not exactly impressive, either.

No one called it impressive either.

It just makes no sense to hold both ideas at the same time; that it means nothing to get nominated, but that it also "says something about the game's reception" if it doesn't win, and then to only apply it to one game in particular.

Like hell, if someone said the same thing about Fire Emblem Warriors (and I'm not liking that game either), I'd also say the same thing I say here.

Where was the wound and where is the salt? You can't say it's a wound if it's not important in the first place. Not winning a meaningless contest also isn't salt, by that logic.

The wound is that the nomination means jack shit. The salt is that Forces isn't doing well anyway.

The other games aren't relevant, apparently, except only Mario and only because it got a negligible lead.

Out of 9000+, Odyssey only has a ~2% lead, and that matters, but literally no other game matters? So since Mario is valid now, then no one cares about Mario then? Is it bad that it got into a meaningless contest and won nothing? Or again, is this only a double standard for Forces?

I only mentioned Mario in response to you bringing up percentages to make it seem less substantial, not to go with my own point.

See the salt in the wound.

well it has forces in the topic title so i expected folk (2 in particular) to bring a hate propaganda into this.

It's a pointless contest that proves nothing. People would say the same if mania was in this position. (which i have no doubt it would be)

Dang. That's a weird-ass wording for "10 seconds of research and basic logic."

Erm.... "people are interested in this game" has got to be the most irrelevant thing to make a category for. I'm glad Forces has some sort of stamp on it, but it'd be nice if it meant something beyond being somewhat interesting to a pool of 10k online voters who haven't played the game.

Well. It is likely that people who play the games at Gamescom would vote. So, they'll be added to the mix at some point.

Saying it's not too popular because it has low votes is hate propaganda?

Because the fanbase gets split over everything.

I'm not even sure what he's referring to when he said that, to be honest.

That sure is a useful post right there

Is there really something wrong with folks discussing stuff like this? There'll be daft blowback like that "hate propaganda" muppet, like, but that's to be expected.

Dude, I'm no one's side, I'm just warning that this topic will end up like it always does with the majority of every other Forces topic.

I could contribute sure, but no way I'm getting involved.

And how the hell am I saying you're wrong for discussing this game? I'm just worried that this will get into another heated argument.

???????

Why can we expect iit? why do we turn every forces topic into a heated "it sucks, its great" war?

this didn't happen with mania which looked pretty damn sketchy at first but now that its out we have a fantastic sonic game.

I feel the same with forces: sketchy but we should wait like with mania.

So? Debates get heated, big whoop. Folks are divided on Forces, big whoop. This stuff's been pointed out like, 5 million times by now; pointing it out every time things look mildly heated regarding Forces isn't suddenly going to drop everything, innit.

If you don't want to get involved, just like, don't contribute. Nobody here's an arse for debating, innit.

As fun as rewriting history is, Mania pretty much never looked sketchy. At all. Mania's hype train was pretty consistent through to release.

The most against it is the Classic/New level divide, but even that wasn't anything on the level of Forces' apparent issues.

Yeah

Basically this whole nomination means absolutely nothing

It's a statistical non-factor, because all it takes to be "nominated" is to exist.

Innit must be your catchphrase huh lol.

Alright I'll back off, but I'm just sick of these discussions having the potienal to turn into flame wars, you know what I mean by this.

And believe me, the pro Forces guys are no better spouting nonsense like "hate propaganda" and such, Hell if anything, they're most likely the ones starting these in the first place.

The thing is that almost all Forces topics run on a cycle at this point (insert sonic cycle bad joke here.) where someone says something positive or tries to keep the hype, someone points out the flaws of the topic's subject, fans get defensive and lash out, detractors respond by trying to prove their point, and it derails for 10 pages.

Didn't you literally call them pointing out Forces' mediocre reception ''hate propaganda''? If anything you're the one who ignited this fire.

The fact we have to argue mediocrity as a good thing in the context of forces is both hilarious and sad. These results don't mean much, we shouldn't hold it like some golden treasure that indicates greatness

You can also vote more than once!

I was just able to vote for wolfenstein 2 twice in a row after a 5 min break.

I didn't know about this poll until it was brought up here. Can't say I particularly care either.

Meta commentary like that doesn't really help anything, to be fair.

? It's up to interpretation but I'm pretty sure they meant their own stance on the game when it was first revealed, not that it was the general consensus.

That said.

As has been helpfully pointed out, coming in here and accusing people of propaganda (lol) for disliking a game is the sort of thing that sparks these things. Knock it off.

Innit is the best catchphrase, along with naff.

And yeah, it's not ideal; but this is the hand we're dealt. Innit. For what it's worth, Forces isn't an utterly abysmal mess, but criticism is important. If the game isn't criticised, particularly in previews as we've seen, then SEGA will just nod and say "yep, they want this", when deep down certain folks think it's wank.

Didn't mean to get personal with my response though, so my bad in case it came across that way at all.

@Dee Dude you're absolutely right. I guess i got too triggered. Sorry

But still these wars are just more and more discord that drives us to say stupid shit. (Most of it not backed by fact, like my two bits)

I dont want to come back in november (7th) and see "i told you so" posts from either side.
