Um Tails isn't bound to Sonic in any dependent way either, you know. Sonic Forces aside. Tails sticks with Sonic because their best friends and Sonic considers him a equal and a brother. Amy doesn't have an intimate relationship of trust like Tails does with his life and happiness. She's just a girl who forces herself on to him. Tails actually helps Sonic even be more human and vunerable in times of complete and utter failure, and shows more of his humility more often when he listens to Tails. Sonic being cocky and egotistical always appears in front of other characters including Amy, but Sonic acts his nicest around Tails IMO.

Sonic is nicer to Tails than Amy because he knows Amy can look after herself

I can image the previous game’s HBH be bosses against Metal Sonic, with a new set made to fight out heroes. And what do y’all think about entire exclusive ZONES for certain characters? Maybe this would be a great way of splitting the difference between old and new stages, having some of the old stages exclusive to certain characters?
