I doubt its related to the actual Mystic Ruin in SA, I the Sonic Team could care less of any type of continuity at this point. 

Its becoming very hard defending them and this game. Ugh, I'm gradually losing my patience, the should team should just take break for a couple of years and bring some new people, cause this shit gotta stop.

If this really is the Mystic Ruins, wouldn't that mean that the temples being converted to Casino's by Eggman belong to Tikal's tribe?

What perked my ears up was that "Mystic" is capitalized (unless that's a translation thing) and "jungle" is the term used to describe the rainforest where the Mayan ripoff temple is.

Agreed. They don't give a crap about continuity and mystic is a pretty generic word, especially when lately we've had translations promising us movie-like breast action. It could be in place of a dozen other words.

How do you know there is no continuity?

"Sonic Team is ......" doesn't count.

im gonna say this. he is saying rings are a important roll in this game that means rings are gonna be used like currency you buy stuff for your custom character with rings and thats great. also if there is shops big possibility with hub worlds. 

First before you say oh the game has no hub worlds well im gonna say this 

1. the hq looks like one

2. they could be pulling a Mario odyssey with us

3: rings are currency

This reminds me of the Smash Dojo and the Pics of the Day during the past Smash games' pre-releases. Especially Smash 4's. Even everybody's initial reactions to the mundane stuff are very similar. XD

The only difference is that I'm not so confident a big bombshell will be dropped on us when we least expect it, but I'm very curious of how they handle this whole ordeal, so I'm gonna keep an eye on it anyway. This is funny. ¦D

This is not the same situation as Sonic 4. The reason that disappointed so much was because it was touted under the title of "Concept Art Friday", and as such raised expectations to see some great stuff (as concept art is wont to do) only to end up with stuff like the tree.

These guys have straight up said it's only going to be basic information, so it's not as if they're advertising mind-blowing reveals here.

actually, my gut feeling is that Sonic Team really are paying more continuity attention.
