Today's tweet is about the Avatar.

Avatar is the original character you create with character customization. "You" is the survival of the battle of urban areas and becomes "newcomers" who threw themselves into the resistance army from ordinary people. Let's join forces with Sonic and friends as a member of resistance army and fight to save the world!

What the fuck? Did the script writer for Megaman X6 write this part? Cause that grammar. lmao

"I can now create, perfect, and the strongest reploids!"

Blame Google Translator for that one.

Beautiful. I kind of wish the marketing for this game would never end, because I find it hard to believe the finished product will be as exciting or entertaining as what we've got so far.

Today's tweet talks about the Resistance, even showing the concept art of the base. It was formed after losing Sonic, and mentions Knuckles being the captain of this Resistance.

When translating this, there was a line, "Trust is grueling due to a brilliant strategy and a bold decision".

... Not sure where theyre going with that.

That the other resistance members no longer trust Knuckles after he came up with a brilliant strategy?
"That can't be the real Knuckles, it must be an Eggman robot masquerading as him!"
Can't blame em considering how the past decade of Sonic Media has treated Knuckles.

....Sarcasm aside, might just be that one of the resistance members has a "Batman gambit" kind of plan going on where they deliberatly make bad decisions in order to put themselves in a better position in the future. And some of the members (Let me guess, Tails) doesn't like it and causes a commotion about it.

The Avatar's move is called the Wire Attack.

Wire Attack is avatar 's high maneuver action. If you hit the jump button again while jumping, you can fire the wire to the enemy who locked on and attack it, you can hook into the gimmick and fly through the air. Let's master it quickly and become a one-time resistance!

Uhh double post? But this tweet talks about Grinding of all things ._.;

https://mobile.twitter.com/SONIC_FORCES_JP/status/917328424921841665

"Grind" action, one of the most exhilarating and cool action of Sonic. Jumped on top of the rail-like terrain, it can glide at high speed. Grind in the highlight often with or defeat the enemy or turn (GT had an odd word for that)' to the left and right of the rail running in parallel.

"When grinding, use the B Button to Accelerate and the Control Stick to balance."

No wait, wrong game. And grinding hasn't worked that way in ages. lol

Gotta love they don't even show footage of the grinding being used in an interactive setting, but at a part it's clearly a section with no input.

Hmm, but you can defeat enemies with grinding now? Then again considering how easy those idiots are being disposed of in this game, I suppose even a casual stroll will send those bots flying trough walls.

Man I miss how grinding worked in SA2, it had that perfect risk/reward system of "if you want to go faster, you have to risk falling off" sure the mechanics could've used more polish but it'd be nice if we could get that back in some form.

Today’s tweet is about...Classic Sonic! They mention Generations in the tweet so, is it canon after all? o_o

https://mobile.twitter.com/SONIC_FORCES_JP

Classic Sonic "

Classic Sonic" is another "sonic speed blue hedgehog" active in a dimension different from Sonic's. Cool and liberal character is still Sonic, in the past two sonics saved the world in cooperation. Why on earth this time did you come to this world ...?

I.....hum......So the presence of Classic Sonic in this is so stupid and uneeded that they themselves are confused about their terrible decision that now they're asking why on twitter?

This must be what the offices of Sonic Team must be like right now:

It's not that they don't know? That would be stupid.

They act like that so that the reader can try to guess.

Who said Generations wasn't canon?

No one official, and there's no reason to think that since Classic Sonic was revealed..

Also I said this weeks ago

Except it isn't that simple because the Japanese Forces website says that Classic Sonic "helped the Sonic of this world previously". It's the same Classic Sonic. There's only one Classic Sonic between Forces, Mania, and Generations. Classic Sonic will never meet Classic Sonic because there's only ever been one Classic Sonic. Classic Sonic won't be confused when Modern characters recgonize him because he already knows them. Generations is canon. Classic Sonic is from an alternate dimension now. You can assume what ever slightly convuluted reason for it, but the reason is that it's a poorly executed retcon. Yes, this makes Generations even more nonsensical. Or Generations made an alternate timeline. Or or maybe there's TWO Modern Sonics instead and everything after Generations is another reality! Or or or this is all Eggman's dream...

*looks at tweet to see people below still claiming they're different Classic Sonics*

Oh COME ON, what, """Mania"""Classic Sonic went on some unseen adventure with Modern Sonic? Reaching for the stars..

Honestly considering how stupid their actions are, at this point I'd believe either one.

People are making this unnecessarily  complicated. I also don't get the people that are shitting on Sega. Don't you realize that this actually fixes a plot hole instead of creating one? Think about it. In Generations, if Classic Sonic is Sonic's past self, then why does Modern Sonic have none of his memories? Modern Sonic should already know that the Time Eater is controlled by Eggman, because his "past self" already experienced it. So why doesn't he? Well, it seems that Sega is using the Many-worlds interpretation to answer that question. To use an example that people know about, let's take Zelda.

At the end of OoT, Zelda sends Link back to the past. However, sending Link back into the past does not erase the present. It simply creates a new universe, while the old one also still exists. This is what is responsible for the split in the Zelda timeline. A similar thing is happening here. The Time Eater was created sometime after Colors. Eggman then travels back in time and uses it to kidnap Classic Sonic. However, this does not erase the present, it simply creates a new universe. So the Classic Sonic we see in Generations is part of this new universe, while Modern Sonic is part of the old universe that we've been seeing every game. That is why Modern Sonic doesn't remember any events from Classic Sonic's perspective. The ending of Generations shows Classic Sonic going back to his new universe. So Sonic Lost World takes place in the old universe, while Sonic Mania takes place in the new universe. In the ending of Mania, Classic Sonic is teleported into the old universe by the Phantom Ruby, and that is when Sonic Forces starts. It's actually pretty clever when you think about it, and it paves the way for even more Classic styled games in the future.

Because Generations takes place outside the normal flow of time so any changes to classic Sonic can't propagate to modern Sonic until they leave the "white world".

Or because the timeline is in flux so modern Sonic can't remember what classic Sonic experienced until classic actually experiences and collapses all the various possibilities into a single true event.

Or any number of other explanations because time travel is made up and can work however the writers decide.

If the classic games never happened in the "modern dimension," then why are locations like Green Hill, Chemical Plant, and (almost definitely) Sky Sanctuary here? Why are there all these iconic locations from adventures that modern Sonic never went on?

That's true. They could have come up with any number of explanations. But they still needed to come up with some explanation. This is simply the way they chose to do it, so I'd still say it resolves a plot hole.
