I can't wait either.  It seems that every issue I've had with the game is being addressed.  Now, if only he could go back and give Sonic R the same treatment. :P

Download the patch from the 'The Expo' link at the top. The patch is only for the US version of the game, so;

Needs to change it to the Genesis label and colours but this is the finished design.

Played this patch on my Sega Genesis with a Mega Everdrive today and it's pretty good! Sonic had very slippery controls in the original 3D Blast but they are MUCH BETTER now. The password system was a welcome change as well. Trying to beat this game in one sitting with all the chaos emeralds was really tiresome.

Bumping this topic because the latest video has 10 rather interesting facts:

Main interesting facts:

- The unused Boss theme (eventually used in Sonic 4 Ep1) was cut early in development because Jon Burton didn't like it...

- Sonic was originally meant to move a lot faster.

-  The theme for Sonic's Twinkle Park stage "Pleasure Castle" in Sonic Adventure was an unused song from 3D Blast on Burton's demo tape! Was originally meant to be alternative special stage music. They intended for Knuckles special stages and Tails special stages to have different music, but they ran out of space so couldn't include it.

-  Original name for 3D Blast was "Sonic Spindrift".

-  All of the colored Flickies were originally supposed to behave the same way.

-  Was originally intended to be a 2-Player game.

-  Remember the title screen image with the wonky eyes (in the right of the below image)? This was a correct 3D render as they intended, but the camera made it look weird....

So they changed it (to the image on the left).

You know what ? I would really like to hear the Pleasure Castle´s Genesis/Megadrive rendition someday.

About the render. It may seem a little weird, but eventually it´s not that bad.

About the title... I am glad it´s 3D Blast/3D Flickies´ Island.

Plus the denial of beta boss music shows Jon has good taste for music.

That Sonic on the right looked like he derped hard after realizing that he is being brought back to Sonic 3D Blast. He cannot process the upgrade in blast processing.

Jon posted a follow up to the whole Twinkle Park as Special Stage Music thing.

But he just inserted the version from Adventure. Time will tell if we get to hear the original version on that demo tape.

Though after this I believe it is better that it was unused.
