Sonic Forces - Space Port Gameplay

The enemies do shoot at you but the bullets are so slow it doesn't matter.

Also for some reason the ring counter caps at 100?

There aren't any lives and you lose all your rings at once anyways, so I don't see a point in it going higher (unless you can buy things).

When Cac swings over that path in the air, how cool would it have been to have landed on it and be taken to a new section of the level? But that's something level designers would think of so never mind

Okay, that was awful. That was worse than Shadow Green Hill. I can't believe this, my hopes of the level design getting better disappeared, who also should disappear out of Sonic Team? MORIO KISHIMOTO.

 

Seriously, couldn't Forces just be a movie? The levels got worse!

There are achievements/trophies for collecting 10,000, 50,000, and 100,000 total rings

Gonna take a long, long while to hit those numbers if you're capped at 100 per run.

I will say this, I'm enjoying the aesthetics so far and I gotta say that Space Port imo looks reallly beautiful visual wise.

Wish the gameplay was applied the same way...meh.

...You know, I was at least interested to see how a frozen Chemical Plant level would look in motion. But this is all just so... lifeless.

The backgrounds are nice, but the level design, enemies (and placements), Wispons... I dunno what I can say about them that hasn't already been said at this point.

Anyway, the dialogue seems to suggest that Sonic's already been defeated and captured by Infinite at this point in the game (most likely referring to the cutscene in the ruined city), and the Avatar's attempting to board a shuttle to rescue him. I guess that means Sonic gets held prisoner aboard the Death Egg?

Wow, this looks so cool! The music, level design, everything is so awesome! I really enjoyed that Quick Time Event :D

Oh yeah, I mostly stayed out of those threads because of spoilers, but I think I do recall someone mentioning that.

It might be on one of those hidden counters that doesn't take into account how much you lose and just keeps going past a hundred.

I dread everytime SEGA reveals new gameplay for Forces, because I KNOW people aren't going to like it. Which is fine by itself, but in this particular message board, people tend to go overboard.

Classic Sonic's Green Hill Zone had them, Motobugs, Choppers and Egg Pawns, so there's some variety (although Casino Forest seems to be back to Egg Pawns only). Drawing a blank on Avatar and Modern.

Why yes I've defended Forces ever since release, but this gameplay video will be the first time I'll outright say That was fucking awful from a gameplay standpoint. That was uninspired and didn't have any cohesion or sense of flow that a Sonic the Hedgehog game should have

But from a graphics, visual and scenery standpoint? Oh hell yes I love this. The Egg Fleet on the background, the detail to the backgrounds making it look decrepit, the fact that it seems to be raining/snowing/hailing, that's the shit man. I love it. I wish the gameplay went along with the scenery and the stage itself because it's a waste of potential.

If you ignore the enemies that don't do nothing, this level looks ok. I genuinely don't see what is so bad about it...:huh:

Well, this footage just proves what is wrong with Sonic Forces from the beginning. 3D linear paths, 2D bashing defenseless enemies with Avatar or "platforming" with Classic/Modern Sonic. Man, this game is going to bomb. Not as much as 06, but close to, really.

Then that's a new thing since in the EGX demo there was no cap.

It's just a straight line with absolutely nothing happening apart from automated segments.

I just do. I thought they were pretty fun in Unleashed.
