Saw this earlier today, but now I give my thoughts: I am excited for this! And I liked seeing Omega there as well. I don't even care if Sonic's gameplay has linear level design, which is not a bad thing, actually, the speed Sonic goes at looks fun! I enjoyed the speed in Unleashed, and I will enjoy the speed in this game as well. Overall, I just can't wait until this game is released, even though it is just a few weeks away.

Total head-canon here, but if Omega went missing prior to the events of Episode Shadow, then its highly likely he knows something that the rest of the cast does not. Probably something about the Phantom Ruby, or the master plan of Eggman, Infinite or both.

Tails fixing up Omega and learning what he knows will likely be the plot point that drives Classic & Tails.

Going by what's been shown so far and by the achievement, (I'm shooting in the dark here) I think the grand finale may take place about some time after you've restored most of the planet, kind of like in unleashed. Infinite may be defeated halfway through the game but the zavok and chaos bossfights would have to be before that. That could mean eggman could still be the final boss but like after that huge battle or something.

Anyway, trailer was awesome no suprise! Can't really say what hasn't already been said so I can pretty much continue my hype for this game! I just woke up so I won't be able to say a lot.

As for the arguments? WE GET IT.

YES, we want to address the problems.

YES, the level design is bad.

and YES, we want Sonic Team to improve.

But quit acting like people who are actually positive about this are ignoring the issues it has because they're not. Myself have seen a few "blind fanboys" but that's not what we're being right now.

What we're doing right now is enjoying for what's good in the game, just because we're not making big deal about the gameplay like you are doesn't mean we don't fully care.

Right, just to clarify, the above quotes are right.

I agree that there is an issue with stage design, whether it be shitty platforming or straight line stages or use/lack of variety of enemies. These points have been made countless times already by people more vocal than myself, so I'm not going to mention it every time we get new footage. This close to release, yeah I am settling for what's coming and I'll enjoy everything else the game has to offer. The trailer was amazing, from hearing a nearly completed version of Fist Bump to seeing some more of the cut scenes and story, and it did its job and got me hyped for Sonic Forces, even though I am fully aware of the issues.

If Sonic Forces had sides, I'd be in the middle. At this point I can only apologise for making a comment that unintentionally caused an argument and took away from the discussion of this very well put together trailer.

Uuuurgh so many questions about Sonic Forces’ plot and just a few more weeks until release. Patience is killing me! >w< 

But God I hope this story is worth it and not a waste of potential like Sonic Lost World. I need more epic high stake plots in my Sonic games!

Really enjoyed this trailer. Very nicely made and has made me even more excited in experiencing the story of the game. I really liked seeing Omega because despite already knowing he was going to be in the game, it just has been forever since he's actually shown up in a 3D Sonic game. Even if he does something small in the story, at least it's something. I also really liked Sonic protecting Silver. Not just because there's a possibility that Silver will get some spotlight in the story, but because it's nice character interactions right there. Really liked the bop Classic Sonic gave Eggman. lol

 

One thing I really do dig (Not sure if I've mentioned this before) is the customization for the Avatar. Really liking the different styles available. Again, I'm not much of a fan of Character Creators because I lack originality and rather enjoy the excellent characters created in a franchise (Especially Sonic here), but I can give credit to Sonic Team and acknowledge that what they're doing here is pretty neat and I hope both kids and older fans who enjoy making OCs will really enjoy this. So many outfits to make and a nice amount of species to choose from (Still would have been cool if we got that dragon).

It's good trailers like this that I very much welcome to help build back my excitement for Forces. I'm still quite in the middle in regards to how I feel about the game (Excited for story, not so much gameplay), but with what seems to be a lot of love and effort being put into the story, hopefully the story turns out well and is well received so Sonic Team can get the message that yes, us fans love it when are favorite characters are used and written correctly with a lot of nice interactions. It's up in the air with characterizations, but I'm willing to give them a chance here and be optimistic. I don't mind my chill Sonic game stories like Colors, but more serious storied like Adventure 2 and Forces are very much welcomed.

Actually that could have been the avatar having a voice. It didn't sound completely like Sonic.

I think it's been confirmed that the Avatar will only have grunts and not full lines. And that definitely sounded like Sonic.

This trailer has really gotten me excited for Forces! I can't believe we only have a little under three weeks to go.

And about the whole level design thing, it doesn't bug me as much because I'm not very critical about the various forms of media I consume, but I won't deny these levels have been sort of... lacking. But as long as I still have fun playing (and it doesn't get worse), I'll take the bad with the good. I understand perfectly if you think otherwise, and I won't yell at you until I'm blue in the face about it. People are allowed to have differing opinions, and that's fine.
