I meant in a general sense regarding mechanics or concepts that have been introduced over the years, not the Avatar specifically. They're "good enough" in the sense that they're not lambasted by critics, but aren't particularly impressive on their own by any means either. I feel like the Avatar will probably fall into that area, since it's just watered down modern Sonic gameplay. Nothing too different.

Most of my post was my own personal thoughts, not an attempt in calling anyone out. Guess it wasn't clear enough.

Fair enough. You're not wrong, and I didn't think you were calling anyone out specifically, just wondered if I had missed something with regards to people's thoughts on the Avatar.

Has there been any music rip leak so far?

Because I'm in love with Avatar's Metropolis theme from what I can hear.

There was, but the videos were set to private for now.

Off the top of my head...GHZ Avatar (Guardian Rock), Casino Forest, and a later Avatar stage ("Capital City" iirc?).

Alternative Forces plot I found on 4chan:

>Be OC
>Walking around
>Suddenly stuff happens that makes you pick between joining the Resistance or showing you're a loyal citizen of the Eggman Empire
>If you side with the Resistance you follow Sonic (no Classic Sonic) and his friends as they smash Eggman Bases, loot supplies, sabotage machines, etc.
>If you don't become a damn rebel then you follow Shadow and the rest of Team Eggman as they crush Resistance troops, mechanize the land, rob magical artifacts or whatever, etc.
>Eggman and Knuckles tell you your orders
>Boss battles with the enemy faction's commanders (Amy, Tails, Chaotix, etc, for the Eggman Empire OC while Resistance OC faces Team Eggman)
>Boss battles with Eggman machines with maybe some beasties and machine the Resistance got to help them
>Sonic and Shadow are their factions' last line of defense
>Reach Eggman or Knuckles (just pretend he does some Master Emerald mojo to power up)
>Whoever's beaten either gets told they were just pawns by Infinite. If Eggman's the leader still standing then he gets told he outlived his usefulness.
>The Resistance and EE team-up against Infinite. Super Sonic and Super Shadow with help from their friends defeat Infinite
>If Resistance won, they dismantle the Eggman Empire but let Eggman and Co. get away with a head start. If EE won, they sign a treaty with the Resistance and let them keep all the territory they reclaimed as thanks for their help.

Better or worse than what we actually got?

Definitely better, though the ending I don't really like. Feels too much like SA2. It's too bare bones to really judge completely.

It's like Shadow the Hedgehog all over again without the memory lapses!

It seems like Light of Hope is the singers first real song. She has a channel with only 8 subs. This is outrageous! She better get recongition, cuz this song is beautiful. (If you say is bad you are lying k)

What?! She deserves all the subs! I love Light of Hope. <3 It might actually be my favourite end credits song for a Sonic game. Like a way better version of My Destiny.

Did Tomoya Ohtani write it along with Fist Bump? If so, I much prefer this song over Fist Bump. Please write more ballads Ohtani-san!

I have a question about the pre-final boss cutscene, where Eggman reveals the Death Egg Robot. Eggman says that the "real" Ruby was in his robot all along, and Tails concludes that because of this, it's now an invulnerable power supply.

Anyone mind taking the time to explain to me how this makes sense, and how he came to this conclusion based on what Eggman said? Did I miss a subplot thread?

Don't waste time looking for logic in a place where logic was probably never used.

The story is so horrible, it had me in laughter. It's pretty much the whole "so bad, it's good" for me. I may get the game, just so I can get a good laugh from it. Wouldn't be the first time I solely but a game for that reason, that is the reason I bought Sonic 06. I think the reason I find this game so funny is because it sounds like something I would have wrote during my early teen years. Note those were the days when I was obsessed with my Mary-Sue of an OC named Darkness the Hedgehog. I just can't take the plot seriously because of it.

Do you guys think gameplay wise this game should of had a hub world or no?

Maybe? It's not like it would have saved the game. If anything it could have meant less resources allocated to the gameplay and level design itself in order to squeeze it in. There's a give and take for everything.

The sense of natural progression is so absent from this game, that a hub wouldn't have helped or hurt it.

Near as I could tell the ruby wasn't actually super powerful on its own and needed an outside power source to pull off really big illusions. That's why the resistance destroyed the Death Egg, it was supposedly sending power to the ruby. So if you put the ruby in the machine that's powering it, you can't destroy the power source and weaken the ruby because the ruby's powers are being used to defend it.

This... makes more sense. I'll accept this answer, thanks.

The more I think of it, the more I'm thinking that Eggman's few funny lines (like his "ten terrabytes of selfies") were probably added by Pontaff, and likely weren't in the original script. I'd be interested in confirming/denying that.

Either way, I get the sneaking suspicion that he was originally written as a totally dry, serious antagonist without any of his usual "fun" traits this time, as - even in the English dub - he feels pretty "off" and disjointed compared to how he's usually written.

Again, for the most part he felt like SatAM Robotnik wearing Eggman's skin.

Well I'm not against the idea, just don't focus the story around 'em. Just have it be a bonus feature.
