Eggman shows up in a suped up Death Egg Robot that looks like Lyric, the player fights him in phases. The final phase is literally a repeat of the Nega Wisp from Colors right down to the physical appearance the mech takes. After beating Eggman the copies of Shadow, Chaos, Zavok, and Metal vanish and everyone says bye to Classic Sonic. Modern says he's sure we'll see Classic again and Tails says, and I quote, "true dat" and then I drink bleach.

Yeah this game is gonna be one of the more polarizing ones in the series from what I’ve seen. But in a couple years, people will be saying that it was underrated

I only saw a tiny bit of it, but after you beat the final boss, you said the sonic gang and random "soldiers" celebrate because they finally beat Eggman's forces or something, and then they say goodbye to Classic Sonic.

Then after that, the gang say something about team work, and then sonic says he's going to go his own way, and the avatar kinda tries to imitate Sonic and becomes Spider-Man. And that's the end.

From what I can tell, after OC and Sonic beat him he's sucked into a thing that powers Eggman's machine. Then Eggman is beaten.. and that's it.

Well.. he's the first sapient monster to not betray the Eggman.

They go to Eggman's base, Infinite tries to drop the sun on them but the Avatar wishes it away with his ruby. Sonic and Avatar fight Infinite, he dies/goes into the ruby in Eggman's base/who cares. While the resistance fights a bunch of villain clones, the playable characters blow up Eggman's base to stop the ruby, but it doesn't work, because he put it in his really ugly robot. Classic and Avatar fight the ugly robot, then the final boss of Sonic Colors but painted white comes out of it and the playable characters triple boost into it. Classic Sonic fades back to the dimension where the series is still good. The end.
