Luigi's Mansion (3DS Remake)

Here's the co-op mode in action. It appears to be Player 1 dominant, since the "Gooeygi" (not real name) has only half health, cannot collect keys, (6:42) and must stay in the same room as Luigi. A letdown for those that would've like to have players explore the building seperatly like in Scarescraper, but somewhat expected since that consisted of simple, repeated RNG rooms on each floor.

Who knows? LM3 might could do something greater with it's multiplayer modes...

The new gallery looks awesome!  And a good way to keep track of what kind of chosts you caught, as well as how many Boos.  But does it mean that Boolossus still has his own painting or is he going to be merged with the Boo painting since he is a fusion of 15 of them.

Footage of all amiibo functionality:

The Super Mushrooms you get from a Mario amiibo heal you, and a Luigi amiibo also makes finding Spooky Spirits easier. Neat.

Here's a clear shot of King Boourns:

Spoiler

Seems like they're crossing the streams of his original and Dark Moon looks. Neat! Anything's better than just a generic Boo with a crown.

10 more changes listed below:

And last but not least, Gamexplain answered 20 questions from subscribers:

  • "No comment" on Hidden Mansion.
  • No new Portrait Ghosts
  • This game supports 3D, and it looks good, apparently
  • You can't turn off motion controls
  • Framerate drops a bit on original 3DS, but nothing too terrible, apparently. But on New 3DS, it's seemingly flawless. But both run at 30fps at best.

You forgot to mention that you can still use the control stick. Andre mentioned this at 6:30 of the video.

Behold:

Spoiler

The game's 2 player mode is introduced when Dark Moon E Gadd contacts Luigi and Egadd back in LM1 because he wants them to give his new invention a test run by sending it back to them. This is happening while in the middle of LM2 since he has only two Dark Moon pieces. It's possible that this Luigi clone is Egadd's next big step after the Scarescraper, (He likely made that as a simulator) and could maybe play an even bigger role in LM3. Phew, Mario lore is getting even more confusing!

Also, I called his name being Gooigi!

Spoiler

This also alludes to E. Gadd's development of time travel in Mario & Luigi: Partners In Time.  Thus, Dark Moon likely precedes Partners In Time in the rich, deep, complex, and totally real Mario timeline.

Luigi steps out of his brother's shadow in order to explore a haunted mansion that he won in order to find his missing brother. Infested with ghosts, ghouls and other creepy monsters, Pinterest Tumblr imo Luigi must navigate through this mansion with the help of a ghost-capturing vacuum to save his brother and stop King Boo's evil plans.

Not much has been confirmed for the remake as of yet, other than a new boss rush mode of the boss ghosts, updated graphics and HUD, and the map of the mansion being displayed on the second screen of the 3DS.

LM on 3DS would have been publicity as balls at least 2 years back. Now... eh. I will trust they're crapping it out to publicity us up for LM 3 on Switch.

It's also a matter of running down 3DS hardware stock, I'd imagine, and continuing to draw sales from consumers who own a 3DS but have yet to move onto the Switch.  The vast majority of third parties have jumped ship now, but Nintendo's winding down pretty gradually.  I'd imagine that next year they'll release a Switch hardware revision which they can present as a 3DS successor (handheld-only and at a cheaper price point, for instance), and at that point things will pivot.
