I mean maybe but it would seem pretty corny for the last character added to this huge celebration of gaming to be master cheif because of cross promo with his hot new game. That kind of marketing synergy stuff makes me insane i get so mad lol. Seems very fornite-y

I don't mind personally if it is cross promo, but preferably I'd hope said game was either already released or (Like with the Luminary) it's an expanded version of an already released title.  Halo Infinite doesn't release until December, and unless Game Pass does come to Switch, Master Chief (Fortnite, Minecraft) has less of a connection than even Joker (Persona Q2, Sonic Forces, PSO2) and Cloud (Kingdom Hearts Chain of Memories, Final Fantasy Explorers, Pictlogica Final Fantasy, Theatrhythm Final Fantasy) had to Nintendo at the time of their inclusions, making the promotion odd.

Another non-fighting game Capcom character or Sora at this point is who I would personally get super excited to see, but as long as they look cool, and feel like a proper close off to the game, I won’t really care much. (*Braces for Sora mii costume*)

Fighter's Pass 2 aside from Steve, has been pretty good to me.

I'm curious on how they'd be different from Steve aside from guns. But I don't think it's completely unlikely.

It doesn't.  This was a weird fan theory prior to the details of the story mode reliant on the reveals up to that point, we've had only one since (Kazuya isn't actual a villain, Tekken has neither heroes nor villains for the most part, they just make everyone morally gray).  The closest thing we have to it is K. Rool's trailer

True, but we only know because IGN leaked it  (Like they did Metroid Dread, though they also had footage for Halo DS).  It was never formally revealed

My biggest hope is it isn't an Activision-Blizzard character as I've not let any of my money go to them in years for other stuff prior to the current bullshit, but in terms of actual characters: 

1. Tails
2. Sol Badguy (Guilty Gear)
3. Isaac (Golden Sun)
4. Klonoa
5. Hayabusa or Euden (Dragalia Lost)

There's a decent chance.  Nintendo loves Fortnite, giving it special consoles limited edition consoles which is rare for 3rd parties, the only other 2 I can think of that get Nintendo merch on a similar level are Dragon Quest and Monster Hunter, which are both cultural phenomenons in Japan.  Fortnite also is one of the highest grossing games in Japan, much like the other Western 3rd parties to have playable characters (Versus games like Rayman which are practically unheard of there merely getting Spirits):

I might not like the idea, but it's a VERY real possibility
