Once the game revealed more of its direction I knew it wasn't really aimed at me, but while the topic of cars is still on the mind, I gotta say going from this:

Was pretty disappointing, to me. I mean it's not like the other All Star Racing games do much different with their vehicle designs, but for what the teaser trailer was worth, it looked like we could have been getting sleeker, more detailed car designs built around typical car traits and designs. Obviously I wasn't expecting Gran Turismo-level graphics and models, as it was just a Cgi teaser trailer, lmao, but at the very least I saw a lot of potential for the game with a new kind of aesthetic in this vein, in the same way Hot Wheels takes typical car traits and builds it's own unique or wild designs around them.

Again, the game totally isn't aimed at me at this point, and I get what they're going for, but I just think it's a real shame that we've basically got straight up toy cars again out of this, when it could have been something a lot cooler. Vector's vehicle is probably the closest to what I was looking for so far, though; it's got a somewhat solid muscle-car build down, while being personalized to feel like it fits in with the character, as well. It's not amazing, but it is a lot closer to what I wanted out of the vehicle designs in the first place.

If you remember what we saw of Vector's car before Vector's reveal, the car was provided for him. Wouldn't be surprised if the alien other world abduction plot explained all the cars being provided by the same source.

Detail is something the series is weaning itself away from in a number of areas, not just in aesthetics. I guess this should have been expected as well. 

Shadow went from his trademark G.U.N Bike, to a less unique but still his own personalized G.U.N tank, to a copy of Sonic's Speed Star. And yes, I'm aware of the reason why so many things were dialed back when it came to Transformed. I'm just mentioning how disappointing a lot of those things still were. 

Eggman's Egg-Mobile with the giant tires is still probably one of my favorites. I keep forgetting what the one he had in Transformed was and whenever I go back and see it I'm like "Oh... that's nowhere near as cool..."

Here, a lot of them are even more similar. Amy and Rouge's were almost hard to tell apart a bit. Blaze's, honestly, doesn't look very good to me. Silver's is okay but only really because of the sleak, glowing future lines. Omega's looks like a LEGO set...

It's a good thing I don't care too much about vehicle design so long as it's not straight up ugly to look at but the Tailgator is kind of the only thing that really caught my eye as just being straight up awesome. It's got fucking teeth!  It needs headphones!

It does have speakers, at the very least! He's lucky they're being abducted, Vector could never afford this car.

I can't really disagree with those saying Blaze's car looks bad. I was expecting something really regal and expensive looking since she is a princess, or perhaps a set of flames emblazoned on it, but no, it's got... cat ears. o.o

Which is rather appropriate since its stupid fast and smells like royalty money.

We have a name for the Rooftop Run track. It's called Market Street.

Also apparently press signed an NDA, so the press demo probably had more than just Market Street that's not been announced.

That's why there's all these airballoons.
Just your average Saturday market, all the local housewives/ guys flaming up the old airballoon and flying up in the air to get fresh vegetables.

Altough honestly I'm very happy we get a track actually set IN the streets instead of just in the sky.

So, with the airtrack clearly being a diffrent Spagonia track, and I swear I saw 2 diffrent versions of the Wisp track as well... I guess we're back to Sonic all stars racing 1 track selections?
3 track versions of each location instead of 16 unique locations?
Suppose that makes sense, this clearly having a lower budget.

Yeah, Rooftop Run is definitely one of the zones, like Planet Wisp. You can also see Ice Mountain in the back of the screenshots, so Lava Mountain is probably another zone considering the volcano we have seen.

This track looks better already! Jumping on air balloons, springs are in the game (even lifting Big the Cat up) and is this an Opa Opa car left to the Tailgator?? Who in the last team could be driving it?

A better way to reveal this would be some footage, though, I currently really don't understand what they're doing with the game.

Sadly it doesn’t look like Opa to me, opening the tweet images in a new tab gives you a better look. Might be kinda Eggman themed though?

I'm only on my phone right now, but I did try to open the largest resolution. Doesn't the right part of the left poster resemble this render? Maybe I'm just seeing things, but there was an interview where Sumo hinted at Sega fanservice, which is why I'm getting the idea in the first place.

The right one is Vector' car, if you mean the yellowish thing. I don't know why they've kept the old concept for the billboards, it's probably low-priority.

Edit: oh yeah, you were right. Big's car does have the antenna.

I would rather have a DLC team made up of villains, it would be pretty cool to see:

As for the tracks, now we know there are 7 zones and they are all from past Sonic locations, so I'm hoping for some among these ones:

Sonic 2 - Casino Night

Sonic 3 & Knuckles - Hydrocity/Mushroom Hill/Sky Sanctuary/Death Egg

Sonic Adventure 2 - Radical Highway

Sonic Heroes - Casino Park/Egg Fleet

Sonic Lost World - Silent Forest

Sonic Forces - Green Hill/Metropolis/Mystic Jungle

Out of these, my favorite quartet would be: Hydrocity, Casino Park, Green Hill (Desert) and Radical Highway. I didn't include zones from Sonic Adventure, Sonic Unleashed and Sonic Colors, since we already have (apparently) Ice Cap, Rooftop Run and Planet Wisp.

A German preview also mentioned Orbot, I thought it was in a more general sense but they must have been shown off backstage. I'm actually okay with them making their playable debut here, especially over Egg Pawn.
