I don't understand how can these screenshots look so exciting while in the footage Encore looks like a palette swap. Strange, isn't it?

SEGA Japan's marketing is completely separate to SoA's - likely case is SoA wanted to keep this stuff a surprise for fans, whereas SoJ aren't as fussed since there's barely any Sonic fans over there.

Press Garden Zone looks beautiful at night.

Also, you can see a little bit of the Art Book on this pic

Seems like Tee is looking for more work. If they ever do a continuation of Mania, be it a sequel or a entirely new game using the classic style and formula again. I REALLY hope they put the effort in to get Tee back, Mania's soundtrack was just sublime. Couldn't ask for better.

So, we got a bit of new information on what Mania Plus will include thanks to the Japanese soundtrack list that was added on the official site.

http://sonic.sega.jp/SonicMania/sp/index.html#contents-soundtrack

As expected, there will be a full mix of Angel Island Zone in the game. There will also apparently be a pinball bonus stage with a remix of Trap Tower from SegaSonic Arcade; now that's awesome! Can't wait to hear the additional tracks!

Sonic Mania Plus Additional Tracks:

Double Take - Encore Save Select

Trap Tower - Pinball Bonus Stage

Back In Action - Mighty & Ray Cutscene

Angel Island Zone

Mania Plus is getting a new "pinball" bonus stage?  Awesome!

I'd imagine it will be inspired by Sonic Spinball and Casino Night.

Remember that Taxman said the Blue Sphere bonus stage was initially just a placeholder in Mania until they decided to use them.  So perhaps this new Pinball bonus stage was originally intended to be the sole bonus stage until the Blue Sphere got the nod.

Wonder if we'll be able play both bonus stages in Mania mode and Encore mode, of whether the new bonus stage will be solely for Encore?

Trap Tower music from SEGASonic the Hedgehog:

Nice that Ray and Mighty are getting a theme and Angel Island getting (hopefully) a full track is awesome.

Spoiler

SONIC MANIA PLUS IS GONNA BE AWESOME

Yes, that new bonus stage is really good news and a welcome addition. I wish blue spheres is an optional mode in Mania Plus. Also, I'm glad that Angel Island exists even if it's just an intro stage.

Additional tracks add up to four, so why does the Japanese OST only have seven tracks over the selected edition, where there’s six Nakamura tracks in the game? Unless there’s three more spoileriffic tracks, or the other three are song demos, interviews, etc...

The other three songs are all from Hyper Potions: "Time Trials" (from the pre-order trailer last year), "Friends" (opening animation song), and "Time Trials Plus" (remix in the new "Plus" trailer).

You can see the full track listing and other info here.

So the Nakamura tracks still aren’t included? Also, neither the Mania Adventures score nor the music from the initial release trailer (Checkpoint and an unknown cover of the Sonic 3D Blast ending music) are on it too. This makes me still think we might get even more new tracks that just aren’t included here but will make it on a definitive soundtrack.

EDIT: The “This Horizon” cover is missing too.

Doubt you will see a definitive soundtrack.

They would need to pay more royalties to Nakamura if they wanted to put the songs on a soundtrack, which it looks like they don't plan too.

Checkpoint was made by Hyper Potions and Nitro Fun, Nitro Fun will likely be the reason of its absence if the rest of the Hyper Potions tracks are there.

Lastly I Can't see a combined Game/Cartoon soundtrack happening, If the Mania Adventures score does get a release it will be separate from the Game.

The OST add on with the JP version will be the last release of the soundtrack, excluding being added to Spotify etc down the line.

Just noticed that the & Knuckles ending music isn't present on the OST either. Weird to me, since it's still a remix even if it's short.

Cool! I hope the pinball bonus stage replaces blue spheres, and blue spheres is finally a separate game mode. I always hoped for a Sonic Spinball game with the classic trilogy physics (like Casino night, but more pinball and less platforming, as in Sonic Spinball), so this could be the closest to that.

Also, finally a nod to Sonic Spinball :)

As Team Mania have been keen on reviving scrapped concepts, perhaps the new pinball bonus stage might take some ideas from this unused/scrapped bonus stage from Sonic CD:

File:Scd Sega Summer Catalogue 1992 Cropped.JPG

From Retro:

An unused Sonic the Hedgehog CD Bonus Stage can be seen in the 1992 Sega Summer Catalogue. Not much is known about the level and much of the Japanese in the article is left untranslated. The tilted angle of the level indicates the level probably rotated like the Sonic 1 Special Stage and 3 reels can be seen meaning there were also slot machine elements. An object with the letter "R" can be seen, possibly a reverse panel like the Sonic 1 special stage. There is also a "U" panel which could have sped up the rotation of the maze, similar to what the "Up" panel did in Sonic 1.

A background layer can be seen further back in the screenshot, with a layout which appears as if it could be navigatable. This suggests that there may have been a way to navigate to that portion of the level, though there is no concrete evidence of this.

I don't think Spinball was referenced at all in Mania, correct me if I'm wrong (apart from the flippers in Mirage Saloon - which was probably more of a reference aimed at Casino Night/Collision Chaos). So a reference to Spinball would be nice. I know Spinball isn't for everyone, but I like it.

Hopefully you can earn rings, extra lives, elemental shields and maybe continues in the new bonus stage.

*cough* *cough* Chemical Plant 1, Sonic intro *cough* *cough*

About the scrapped Sonic CD bonus stage... Well, I don´t really think it would be that similar... as it would mean bringing Sonic and Knuckles Slot Machines back, essentially.

With Stardust Speedway I believe they can go for "At Dawn" for Act 1... Sonic Adventure reference ?

He's probably my favorite character in Mania now.

I would think they would use palette's from Good/Bad Future from CD before they did an Adventure reference.
