Tumblr/Twitter Sonic's latest exploits

I'm sure he can get away with it just fine. The general idea Sega seems to be pushing now is "Sonic Boom is goofy fodder for kids, the games are the real deal schpiel", so poking fun at Boom seems reasonable since it's obviously not for the demographic the readers of the interview are.

As for the 'in-character' bit, that doesn't bother me either. Aaron's Sonic is just an image that reps the franchise as a whole instead of the character in particular, and everyone just about knows it. In other words, noone should really think Aaron's Sonic writing is meant to 100% be in character. :v

I still don't like it. It projects an attitude that the franchise is a joke, and everything should be laughed at. If the purpose is to give an image that represents the franchise as a whole, then what image is it that Arron's giving us here?

... ... you know. I see some people saying this.

Yet I never see any solid examples or arguments or even examples of other social media outlets which do this which show a major decline in their products reputation.

Yet I name tons of examples of franchises which have done the same thing in which public opinion and reception has radically improved.

I can also name ones which tried to take the 'serious' route or tried to act not as the character and it backfired... badly... Oh hey is that Tomy the Tiger?

So... those who are so afraid it's harming the franchise. Do you actually have anything to back this stance up?

That's actually one of the points I'm most concerned about, because it stems from one of Aaron's actual quotes;

"There was that scarf for a little bit, but that was kind of a phase. Not really feeling that as much these days."

You realise Sonic Boom is still active, right? Like, that come this close to slandering your own product.

Maybe, from his perspective, the 25th anniversary game would overshadow Boom. Actually, considering the development time, Sega already considers it more important than Boom.

I really don't think the scarf comment was meant as a dig at Boom in the same way he's taken pot shots at 06 from time to time.

Sonic Boom, by its nature, is a phase even though it could be a lengthy one. It's had a two year run of being the major output for Sonic and now it's time for it to start to take a side seat as the main branch of the brand comes back kicking for the anniversary.

Aaron specifically marked the "death" of the scarf when the Twitter avatar switched from Boom to Classic Sonic. He'll be referencing that more than anything else.

Tony the Tiger's problem wasn't being "serious". Tony's problem is that he went around blocking any furry that the account was followed by his account, regardless if they're involved with making Tony the Tiger porn or not. Being "serious" wasn't the problem, being stupid was.

Guys, Aaron's interpretation of Sonic has been having digs at a lot of the franchise in the past. Look it up, he's had a chuckle at Adventure, Shadow and 06 among others. I may not like him taking digs at his own work but I never moaned about him doing it. Let's not make him taking his first Boom dig (a small one to be sure) a sour occasion.

Right... and the rest of what I said? Anything to prove your fears?

a bit late though. And it's still not on spotify. That tag pretty much summed up sonic music.

Man, talk about late as all hell. It's been weeks since the second album of Runners' music came out.

I'm sorry, didn't we go over this before? I'm pretty sure we have, and I'm not retreading that territory again just because you're mad that I don't agree with you.

I'm not mad that you dont agree with me. I don't particularly care if you do or not.

Just wondering when you and everyone else who is against this is going to actually provide something which shows that this is damaging or harming he franchise which neither you or anyone else has been able to.

I can provide countless examples of how both this account and others which have acted this way has improved the reputation of the product. Yet every single time I ask those who are so against it to provide something to back up how this is damaging...

It's really not that hard to do.

D'aaaaw!!!

It feels like forever since we've seen Sonic and Amy together in the main series. And Apparently those flowers are from Sonic CD! What a nice touch.
