Angel Island being hidden behind clouds could explain why it went unnoticed in a world that has airplanes and rocketships and TV, I suppose.

The good ending of Knuckles run kinda says that's suppose to be a lot higher than it's usually shown.

But the fact that it's a roaming island is suppose to explain the way it appears in Adventure, which means it should be more known.

I know, but we still accepted it as just on one Earth/Mobius/Sonic’s World in spite of that.

The only major point of contention there was on the planet’s name.

We accepted it as one world because we didn't have reason to think otherwise, that didn't make it any less of a mess of a world.

On the nature vs technology thing, I'd say it simply varies depending on the location.

The mobian and mobini centric South and Westside Island are basic locations with little to no technology beyond villages. Of course, Metropolis and Metal City border on futuristic, so there's some jumps here and there with the latter having Robotnik Corp influence.

The overlander and human populated Station Square, Westopolis, and Central City are generally urban with a few higher-tech tourist traps or resources,  thanks to GUN. Megalo Station, which also houses Meteoric, is outright futuristic.

Meanwhile, ancient locations like Angel Island, Babylon Garden, and the Lost Hex surprisingly has a little of both, with the first having some minor industrialization and hover gizmos and the second being a spaceship with magic carpets and genie security systems onboard. Lost Hex is a tad ambiguous though, depending on how much Eggman actually did beyond the Extractor and the factories.

And then Soleanna has both mysticism and technology built into their royal culture.

. even South Island's supposed to be some weird moving island that distorted spacetime.

The original Japanese story, yeah:

However, no one knows how to obtain [the Chaos Emeralds]. That is because South Island is an island that moves around and the Chaos Emeralds exist within the distortions created by the island.

Tails lacks a Hyper form

The Sonic 3 version of Super Tails is technically a Hyper form.

What about the globe being different everytime it appears?

After what the alternative has given us, I’d say yes it did.

I’d chalk that up more to indifference than anything.

Eggman wasn't the first outsider to discover Angel Island: Gerald was.

Why did the world at large think Angel Island was just a legend in the present day despite Gerald Robotnik knowing about it 50 years ago?  Same reason all of Gerald's other discoveries were unknown to the general public.

Cream the Rabbit. Sorry but I'm sure I've said it elsewhere on the boards at some time , if I never heard her voice again it would be fine .

Sonic Heroes and Sonic Generations? She most definitely spoke and was heard in those games. If anyone can name any other times she has been heard feel free to jump in.

I mean, you could just change the direction of what her voice is.

What I mean is I don't like the sound of her voice ,not what she's actually saying. Just the sound of her voice.

Yes, I think they got that, which is why they said you could change the direction of her voice.

Ya know, what her voice is suppose to sound like?

Her voice is canon.

Honestly, everything about Forces besides the Wispons and the Avatar.

Not in the sense that this stuff should never happen, but that they shouldn't have happened now and instead have been saved/repurposed for games that could actually take full advantage of them.

Meanwhile, the other two could've still been used for that supposed spinoff game or at least be something genuinely cool SEGA provided Archie/IDW to play with.

Old news but I’d definitely decanonize the wisps. I like basically nothing about them and it’s annoying seeing them everywhere pretending they belong. It’s like the zeti’s but worse.

Hear, hear. We didn't need another bunch of little mascot characters.

If they were just dead-set on having little power-up assistants, the Wisps' role could have easily gone to the Chao or - better yet - the small animal friends.

The wisps, the chao and the animals serve different enough functions that I don't really see the problem in having them all.

That's a totally fair argument. They do serve different functions.

I guess I just aesthetically really don't like them. From a purely visual perspective they always struck me as really gaudy and out of place, but eh, that's just me.

That's a valid enough reason to want them gone. They're a little simpler than what Sonic usually goes for but I just accepted them being otherworldly as the reason. They're mostly just ok design wise to me but I kinda fell in love with the spike one so that redeems the rest.

My problems with them are all on the mechanical side but that doesnt have a lot to do with this topic

I actually like the wisps.

If anything, I’m not a fan of how they’re used. I think Forces is the one place where they’re better utilized with the Wisp-on as opposed to single-use power ups—it would be like giving Yoshi to Mario for only 10 seconds instead of as long as you can keep him and yourself alive.

Would be better if they not did that and found a mechanic with a longer term use.

Mario has had timed powerups and they generally worked fine, though. There's all different ways of handling powerups and they suit different needs.

Not as often as more permanent power-ups, depending on the game. Either way, the Wisps aren’t cutting it the same way and could use an overhaul.

I’m more in favor of semi-permanent to permanent power ups than timed ones.

I believe I've said this before but instead of there being two worlds (stupid idea) I would have Sonic and friends live on some enchanted uncharted island man has never set foot on. (Home to the more out-of-this-world elements of the series like Chao, Chaos Emeralds, loop-de-loops and such)

When the need be, Sonic & Tails could just use the tornado to fly to the more realistic, human populated continents where Station Square, Spagonia, Casino Night, etc. are.

Casino Night is on West Side Island.
