Man, Sega is REALLY upset about this, huh? Maybe if they hurried the hell up with a screenshot or a trailer or something, we wouldn't be craving these leaks.

How long did it take them to release something after the Unleashed screens were leaked? My guess is we'll get something on Monday.

If we had info we would still be lurking for more, look at ASR, we had a steady flux of info incoming from trailers and forum posts (not to mention almost the whole roster), and still, people looked into the site for "moar leakz"...

So I guess SEGA is REALLY upset over this leak?

http://seganerds.thekartel.com/go/thread/view/87386/22196929/Project_Needlemouse_Character_Countdown?pg=6

And I think that the 360/PS3 ironically has A LOT more unique games than the Wii. And if you are a Wii-only owner, you are missing out on a lot of fantastic 3rd party games like Batman Arkham Asylum and Bayonetta. The Wii is fine, but the REAL next-generation is on 360 and PS3.

Is there any possibility that they're also BSing about Sega getting on their case, in an attempt to make their "leaks" look more true. Oh, "Sega" is asking us to remove our "leaked" info. So it must be true!

It may be just me not wanting this info to be true. But it seems just as likely if you think about it.

That is a possibility, but 'G' also says "I was also pre-warned by a SEGA employee that it's best not to post it just yet.". This is all one big mess. Anyone would think it was April 1st.

Our favourite site for comic journalism is stirring things up again -

BULLETIN: A man claiming to be Christian Whitehead (The Taxman) alleges he is indeed working on Project Needlemouse. We are working to verify this information. More soon.

Isn't he the guy who ported Sonic CD to the iPhone? I'll have a dig.

Yep, that's him. The creator of the "Retro Engine". This would actually be pretty cool if it were true.

It doesn't matter who it is. If this statement is true and he's really working on Project: Needlemouse, the guy's got a very good chance of being fired soon. If he "reveals" any information, there's a 90% chance of it being fake. If it IS real, he's got a 99% chance of being fired.

Point is: it doesn't matter if he's really working on the game or not, because he can't reveal any information anyway or he's fired. Especially since the guy went straight out and said his own name. (Unless he lied about that, too.)

It's not Taxman. Taxman had shown Sega his stuff around June or July. The concept artwork dates back to May.

Plus, he's already said before he didn't have anything to do with this. What gives now?

Exactly, if he was going to reveal anything he'd do it annonymously so even if Tristan find's out who he is he won't be able to say anything or else he'll be fired especially since he's given his name.

On the other hand it could just be some prankster. I could make an e-mail account and send an e-mail to Tristan claiming to be that guy and claim to be working on Needlemouse with some info on the game to dish out. More than likely it would get the same big red Bulletin banner too, doesn't mean I am the guy.

I said this on Retro, but remember that Taxman approached SEGA with his in like July. The Shellcracker concept art was dated at May 15th. This tells us that the game was at some stage of development before SEGA had any idea about the engine he made.

Exactly, it would be too late in production change things like the engine around. I call BS, FIRST@SSMB.

As tight-lipped as Sega has been about this project, even with the actual studio who animated the trailer, for some guy to come out of the woodwork claiming to be working on it right as we got wind of these rumors reeks of bullshit. This is unless, of course, he's surfacing to merely to put a stop to any potential drama considering the controversy over the trailer, but even then the convenience is astounding enough to be suspect. Just way too many red flags now; Consider me completely disinterested (in the rumors, not the inevitable fallout <3) until Sega themselves actually say something about the game.

20. Think a more modern take on Sonic CD. I think that would be the best way to describe it. You will see him taller, but not too tall, green in his eyes, and the peel-out design while he's running. The levels themselves look just as zany as you remember them, but have a bit of a modern twist, and Eggman's never looked better.

I still call BS

I won't rule out the info supposedly leaked prior to this, but I agree, the dates of the artwork and for when he actually approached SEGA are against this guy.

Someone over at Gamespot's forums found this pic, sorry it won't direct link the pic so you'll have to click the link -

Would be cool if the game looke like that, characters look slightly odd but the environment looks awesome though the colours could be more lively.

That would be worth the wait. But lets hope the BGs aren't gonna be reused from any of the old games. I want ALL NEW SHIT. =D
