The best ever documentary on Sonic

So this well known Youtube essayist known as Super Eyepatch Wolf just did a video on Sonic, a video on the series and the fanbase's history, and how and why we got to where we are now. You should really give it a watch:

Sonic's story is such a sad one, going from the most popular video game franchise in the world to becoming something that if you admit to being a fan of it you risk getting mocked. But I love how the above video nevertheless ends on a bit of a positive note.

Well it's through, but it didn't revealed anything new for me (although that Sonic Smackdown game looks fun and I checked "Hanging Out" and it's FRICCKING AMAZING. Seriously check it it out. Need prove it's good? Check it out.)

Anyway fairly competent look at the franchise fandom, but not revolutionary. And what bother me most that videos like this keep remind us about bad stuff (that high pitched kid), when I would much prefer to forget about them for ever.

Still, the dude actually mentioned Sonic porn in mature and intelligent manner, so huge respect for that.

Yep, that's a rairity. Porn tends to be the elephant in the room regarding any fanbase centered on a work of fiction, something that everyone knows but is only ever brought up in discussions when it's either to deride it's existance or make a joke about it.

If by "mature and intelligent," you mean, "shoehorned in, and accompanied by gratuitous imagery," then yeah, I guess.
