It isn't really anything I haven't accustomed already though. But well, I'm gonna come anyway, gotta have some fun time and see my picks go live. Especially couple of these tracks are something I want to stick around for.

 

But gee, aren't you going fancy this year, gotta appreciate all the hard work and effort you're putting into this one, I hope it'll work out.

This year was a ton of fun guys. I stayed the whole entire time for both days and I don't regret it. I'm glad we had six songs to pick from too, although, as I said in the stream, for me personally, I'd prefer to be able to pick 5 normal songs and 1 remix. That's me though. I had an extremely tough time finding even one remix and the one I picked wasn't super popular. Couldn't even find a second. 

I probably could have found one for the TV shows but that slot was taken. 

Again, this is just my own thing though. If people like remixes, that's cool.

this year's event was very fun to participate in! i liked how the normal stream and celebration videos were fused into one. it was fun chatting with everyone, and vibing to music, and i quite liked the inclusion of the SEGA general category.

although with that category, the songs should be limited to just a few per franchise. this year, the SEGA general section was overtaken by mostly persona songs that i contributed to by requesting a persona song but shhhh so implementing a rule like that would be a good way to keep the SEGA general section varied.

this event was probably my favorite. loved chatting, listening and making the wallpaper for this year's event. musical spectaculars are always something i look forward to each year, and this one did not disappoint. thank you to the motobug staff and everyone who joined in for making this year's event great!

Alright everyone, that's a wrap on Sonic Musical Spectacular 5! It's not quite time for me to do my annual wrap-up post, but for now, if you couldn't make the stream live, here's the final two parts of the event (Including all of the songs requested, as well as those who requested them)! Both comprise the Modern era! On again, give a big thank you to @Polkadi~☆ for the fantastic work on the videos this year!

Yeah, I had fun time as well. It was fun to chat and hype for stuff.

And I love the fact I got Reign in. I had a blast and everyone else were prolly facedesking like hell. Too Engrish and all.

Also the blue blindness is contagious, don't feel scared to get some treatment to that if it becomes a thing.

 

But really, liked the fact there was the Sega General, maybe it could be nice to make the restrictions of how many songs per franchise but otherwise it was perfect. Just a bit filled with Persona but other than that pure awesomeness. And yeah, 5+1 could be nice. Maybe it could be like that the 4+1+1 where one could be either or would it be too complicated?

Two days is nice and I like how the songs were put together into acts instead of just having all of the songs individually.

All in all, I had a blast and I think it was pretty darn cool Spectacular.

Right now I'm kinda sleepy so I'll maybe return later if I get anything else on my mind when I get up or something.

One freebie slot for either a remix or a normal song could work too. That way those who prefer a second remix can still have that. I personally care more about the official stuff and I was struggling to figure out what to do with my last slot. We had plenty official slots left over and I didn't want to ask if I could cash in my remix for one of them. That would have been rude, I feel.

First time getting in on one of these events and it was a blast (evidently trolling everyone with King of the Ring )! Nearly stuck around for the whole thing (took a short break during the beginning of the Sega General section). I also had trouble thinking up remixes to add, though I probably could of found something had I stumbled on this earlier than I did. For better or worse I found myself tuning out of the Smash and Sega General section kind of heavily but that's just me. (Hell I think Persona tunes were still playing when I got back from break lol).

Kudos to everyone who put this thing together, especially Polkadi~☆, get some hibernation in. 

Looking forward to next year.

I actually had brought this up as a potential alternative, right before you mentioned it. Nothing concrete yet, but this is certainly an option we're exploring at the moment.

Well I had a good time, relaxing and chilling with you guys and some awesome tunes. Have to say,liked the edited format. Lessens the videos in the playlist so its smooth sailing throughout. Few hicups with facts here and there but easily remedied ones. Have to agree with what others have said, a set amount of Sega general ones to keep it neat would be my main take away. I like the Sega general stuff, we just need people to vote more variety into it. I know I'll do one next time.

Also, keep the two night format. Means we aren't around for way too long and can still enjoy ourselves before we get too tired.

It was another great one. Might have only been around for half of it, but the music selection was great from what I heard, and getting in on some of the chat was fun. The new format definitely works better as it makes it feel like a proper event rather than a bunch of songs in a list.

Onward to next year.

I was around for the Sonic 06 section before turning in for the night. But in that short time I thought it was real nice! This years video design is really cool and it was fun chatting on the side as well.

Yeah, this was the thing I was after, I was just so darn sleepy words kinda escaped my mind or something. It'd be nice to be able to be flexible with the choices, if it's not too much trouble to the organisers.

I myself tend to pick the remixes on a whim since I don't really know a lot of them, so I just pick the category and try to find a remix for it. Luckily it has worked up until this point the very least, maybe it'll keep on working... that way I do find some nice tracks anyway.

But yeah, had a blast. Was epic. Had way too many laughs. Caused even more shenanigans. Almost blew up Motobug with the Earth in tow according to Ryan. Drowned a bridge. Or broke it. Don't remember. You know, the usual Spectacular Motobug weekend. I had the usual. With 120% more ' -things. With 500% more hype.

Yeah, it was a total blast. Still feeling the afterglow.

Alright, with a few days having now passed, I think it's time to bring this event to a close! 

First things first, here's some random stats about the event!

• 34 people submitted requests
• Over 25 people attended the stream live
• The runtime of the event came out to over ten hours
• Persona had the most songs in SEGA General
• Adding games with multiple lists together - Sonic CD had the most requests this year - filling out both the US and JP soundtrack lists.
• Team Sonic Racing, Sonic Adventure 2, Sonic Forces, Sonic Mania, and Sonic Unleashed were all tied as second popular (all of them filling up their five slot lists). They're tied for first, if we don't count CD having two lists.
• Trumping all of them was SEGA General with a grand total of 14 songs, well over a standard album. 

With that, the fifth Sonic Musical Spectacular has come to a close, this year's event in particular was a very special occasion for us, as it marks five full years that the Motobug crew have been operating and running the channel ever since it was started by a member named Rucdose, and not only that - it marked a huge occasion for The Sonic Stadium in general, it's 20th anniversary! Since that faithful day, Motobug has come extremely far, branching out into many different events and many different stream. I didn't think that five years ago, we'd still be going strong to this day, but here we are. Between both of these huge occasions, we felt we had to make this year's event the best out of all of the previous ones, and in my opinion, I think we achieved that.

I've said this many times before, but Motobug is, and never has been a one-man operation, and Sonic Musical Spectacular in particularly shows how much teamwork, passion, and effort goes into these events. This year's event in particular had been in planning since January, if not even before then (IIRC - the first discussions of it began in November, in fact). The event this year in particular went through many different versions as we had come up with a ton of different ideas for things to add to it. It was the different versions and discussions that eventually led up to this year's format of having our own personalised videos that doubled as both the event, and the celebration video, which ultimately seemed to work out better for everyone, so that was great to see.

I always say every year that this event is a really special event to me, since it's a time when a lot of people come together to contribute different things to help make the event a reality. From all of the SSMB members who came together to request their favourite songs, and came along to the stream to provide a great time, to the Motobug staff behind the scenes who worked hard to get the event off the ground. I might be the event organiser, but I cannot send enough praise and thanks to the rest of the Motobug crew who made this event a reality, both past and present. From @Polkadi~☆'s incredible video-making this year, to @Spin Attaxx and @altum_dolorem's incredible artwork from the logo to various art assets like the banners in the OP.

I want to give my deepest thanks to everyone who took part in the event, both those who participated, those who came along to the stream, and of course - all of the Motobug crew who made this event a reality. I personally think this year not only had the best format by far, but had one of the best selections of songs from every game represented. 

As for next year, the Motobug crew have been taking in deep consideration of the feedback that we've gotten from those who attended the event. I don't have a whole ton of details to discuss until we conduct proper planning of next year's event, but for now, I can share this much - firstly - next year we will be removing the second remix slot. 

However - we will be replacing this with a "wild-card" slot. This slot will be a free slot that you can use to choose either a regular song, or a second remix if you so choose. So with that, next year's plan will be four regular song slots, one remix slot, and your wild card slot that you can use for either a regular song, or a remix. You still have six song slots like this year overall, but you have more freedom with one of them.

Secondly - we'll be introducing a limit on SEGA General's requests, specifically - how many songs one franchise can have. While the Motobug staff are happy with the popular turnout that SEGA General had overall, there seems to be a shared sentiment that Persona had way too many songs compared to other franchises, so we'll be introducing a limit (to be decided) so we can have a bit more diversity within the SEGA General category.

Thirdly, and lastly - the format - this year's format in particular seems to have been very popular, not only splitting the stream over two days, as we did with SMS4, but having the customised backgrounds, layout, and videos for watching the event. @Polkadi~☆ has also mentioned how making this year's format was significantly more easier than the previous years' celebration videos, so we will most likely be keeping the brand new format on as we progress into next year's event, since it's not only easier on Polk, but also seems to be more popular amongst the members here.

So with that said, I don't have much else to say, other than once again - a gigantic thank you to the Motobug staff who helped in the creation of the event, and of course - thank you to everyone who took part in the event this year, and continues to support these events, as it's the fun that everyone gets from Sonic Musical Spectacular that makes it all worth it in the end.

On another note, @Strickerx5 is also currently working on getting the badges distributed out soon, and I'm sure he'll let everyone know when they're being sent out. We believe we've noted down everyone who's owed a badge, so if you don't receive a badge after Strick has confirmed he's sent them to everyone, be sure to give us a shout, and we'll hopefully get it sorted out.

So with all of that said...
