Virtua Fighter eSports/Virtua Fighter 5: Ultimate Showdown (PS4, hopefully others)- “Not-so-Final showdown”

Back at Tokyo Game Show, SEGA announced a Virtua Fighter eSports Project, but wouldn’t give any other details other than stating later on that they refer to it as a “restart” focused on competitive play. A while back, a Korean ratings board rated Virtua Fighter 5: Ultimate Showdown, and last week, artwork was found on the Japanese PS4 database, meaning an official announcement shouldn’t be far off. 

People assume this is a port of Final Showdown, but based on the fact that it’s using a new name + new artwork (plus, Vanessa seems to have been given a new outfit, as seen in the third image in the article), I think this might be a remake. 

All indications are pointing to this being a PS4 title, but given the project being eSports centered, hopefully it’ll come to others as well.
