Music used in the Sonic GL videos

Hi all, since I was a kid I had some kind of fascination for the elusive Sonic GL fan game that never got released. I think many still remember this as an early display of proficiency of what a Sonic fan could do and still can feel the awe they felt as kids or teens when going through the now defunct website and the videos that were downloadable in it. I feel like part of the magic of that era was also the music selection of those videos, which was so early 2000's and nostalgic. Thanks to the magic of Wayback Machine I managed to give the site a visit and I started to download them again and find any curious info I would stumble into. I found that the majority of the tracks (other than that one famous Bad Religion song) used by the author of the fan game were picked from OCRemix, which is host to many fan remixes of popular video game songs. These are the ones I found:

After scavenging for all possible Sonic music remixes on the website, still there is one track,  that is used in the video below, that doesn't sound familiar to me to this day. This is a bummer because I really would love to hear it in its entirety because it sounds very nostalgic. Do you have any idea of what this track could be? I tried looking into the metadata of the video but didn't find anything. Feel free to discuss also any other music that you find nostalgic and was used in the fan games of old days, I hope this topic starts a pleasant discussion! 😁

I was just thinking about this fangame the other day, when people in the status updates brought up Christian Whitehead's old 3-D prototype from 2005. I remember watching the Bad Religion trailer over and over when I was 11-12 years old and just thinking it looked so cool and impressive for a fanmade project, and it made me wonder what fans might be able to accomplish years down the line. It feels like this was a precursor to the more ambitious fangames we've gotten in the past few years. And damn, even stuff like the "Fraps" watermark totally dates these videos to the early YouTube days, haha.

Honestly, most of those remixes are barely recognizable as the tracks they're based on, except for maybe the Chao Garden remix. I wouldn't have known the second one was based on the Sonic 3 credits music without the title saying so. The music in that test video just sounds like early 2000s techno/club music to me. But it is kind of nostalgic, I guess. Always a shame when something like that gets lost.

I hope the developer of this went on to work on something else, at least.

I have personally to thank the sonic fan games of those days because they made me curious about programming and now that is one of my main interests. 😁😁 In regards to the developer, I think he now works in Japan, I have seen his name on LinkedIn and similar sites and now a person of the same name works for Namco Bandai so I'm pretty sure that he has been living the career he always wanted. 😃

Holy shit, I had no idea any other footage of Sonic GL existed. I always thought Bosser Jerome got abducted by aliens or something. If that's really him at Namco Bandai, I'm happy for him.

I really recommend to give the site a visit with Wayback Machine, I'll post the link here for ease of use, you can even visit the later updates of the same website.

Also I don't remember how but I found also the old old version of his website which for some reason is still up and you can download a couple of things from it.
