Sonic Channel September Artwork: "Sonic x Wisps"

The latest artwork from SEGA Japan's Sonic Channel has been released! With Sonic Colours Ultimate releasing in the next month or so worldwide, it makes sense that the September entry for the 'Sonic x ...' series would focus on the colourful Wisp creatures.

The artwork features Sonic darting around Windy Valley as he pals around with Yacker and the Drill, Laser and Ghost Wisps from Sonic Colours. The new drawings also come complete with a short story (in Japanese) about Sonic's encounter with these mysterious beings. You can read that here.

On Sonic Channel's website, you can download the artwork in both desktop and mobile formats as a wallpaper. You can also download a digital calendar PDF for September 2021 that also features this art.

Do you mean with the story on Sonic Channel's website? I used machine translate to understand most of it (all that money on Japanese classes for nothing, lol) but it seemed to abruptly end so I imagine there's a "To Be Continued" thing about it. Do they usually add these towards the end of the next month or something?

All of the stories except for August & September have been 1 & done short stories.

For some reason, the past 2 month's stories have been split into 2 parts or chapters.

Where can I find a translation? Seems any machine translations just butcher everything.

Grumble, grumble, Wisps taking precious spot that could been used by Espio, Jet or Tikal (I'm 90% sure last three are Silver, Blaze and Eggman).  Bit of a bummer.

On plus site, it's nice to have place with all stories gathered and translated.

I don't mind it, Colors Ultimate is coming soon after all. And to be honest, as much as I wish these guys didn't stick around all the time, they are pretty cool when used right.

This story in particular mentioned how they flew around with birds and dug around with moles; I would love to see a future Chao garden integrate all the dibbies we've gotten thus far - Chao as the main interactable creature, animal friends for changing appearance, and Wisps to replace Chaos drives

Nothing really big, they stayed around Sonic stars because they liked it (the "star" part is strange, as Wisps planet are descibed as planet, and the difference seems to be also in japanese between 星 (for star) and 惑星 (for planet), so IDK why it's there XD), it's impossible to use a Wispon if the Wisp doesn't like you, etc.
