Do you think that SEGA will eventually change the mandates for the IDW Sonic comics?

But what do they have to worry about SEGA? that they use characters from their cartoons in the IDW comics since it is not canon, the only "bad" thing that can happen is that the comic is successful and that they decide to make a game based on it.

SEGA probably don't use the Freedom Fighters because they are not characters that SEGA themselves created.  These are characters that were created before SEGA created some more lore for Sonic and even if they decided to bring back the freedom fighters, I have a feeling that they will not be the same characters that we know and love because SEGA might want to change their personalities to fit with their vision of the Sonic franchise.

It wouldn't be a bad thing if they retouched them a bit to make them canon characters, better for us.

They don’t have to change their personalities much, just their backgrounds and their appearances. Their personalities would flow along with everything else—they’ll be different than before, but that’s not really anything unexpected given it’s been done before.
