If there were any new Sonic characters playable in future Sonic games, what abilities would you like them to have?

Title says it all. These can be abilities that are old (as in not in the Sonic series before, but have already existing in other fiction) or they can be unique and new (including variations of old powers, like a method of flying).

My ideas of what abilities a playable character should have in Sonic games are...

The ability to manipulate the ground or floor below oneself, causing it to rise from the ground and create loops and corkscrews or just paths the character can run on.

The ability to change directions sharper than the Sonic Drift without losing speed.

The ability to manipulate kinetic energy, inertia or momentum of oneself so that they can do things like steal or grant speed, or make things lighter or heavier, etc.

The ability to split oneself into parts, allowing one to get through tight spaces and get past some walls while maintaining momentum, kinda like Marx with his Black Hole attack in Kirby Super Star.

The ability to have homing attack abilities better than Sonic's in many ways, with increased range.

The ability to be super tough, and while the character can still lose rings, they cannot be crushed by heavy objects.

The ability to be intangible, able to interact with the environment but can go through walls, maybe certain ones.

So, what abilities would you like to see characters playable in future Sonic games, if there are any in the future, to have? That said, I would like to ask another question: Should the abilities of playable characters that are new take away from Sonic's normal gameplay in any way, or should they stick to it and not be slow?
