Sonic Shuffle is a very unknown and obsure Sonic game, today is celebrates it's 21st birthday

Made on Novemeber 14th, 2000 for the Sega Dreamcast and one for the 3 games of the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise of the Dreamcast.

People today would just write it off as a copy of Mario Party but with Sonic Characters and placed in the pile of bad Sonic Games. But thus today is it's birthday.

2000-2021

I remember playing this game when it came out. I thought it was fun, but to be perfectly honest the thing that really stuck with with me was seeing Sonic seemingly being attracted to that pink girl at the begining of the game (whistling at her and enthusiastically asking who she is). Sonic had always seemed so disinterested in the opposite gender, so that moment was memorable to 13 year old me because it was like "wow, I guess Sonic is having the same naughty feelings towards girls that I've recently been having!". 😄

Ahem, yeah. But anyway, like I said, I thought it was a fun game. I haven't played it much since, but just going by my own experiences I don't see why it got such poor reviews upon release. Sure it wasn't as good as the Mario spinoff's it was trying to copy (story of Sonic's life, amirite?) but I don't see how it's bad.

I rented it once and thought it was okay. I preferred Mario Party's structure much more though.

It's funny that it was regarded as a Mario Party rip-off when it was developed by the same people who did Mario Party.
