Blue Blood Posted December 10, 2021 Share Posted December 10, 2021 Lots of CGI, no actual gameplay in action but a few moments of in game graphics. Looks alright. Amazing? No, but it looks okay. The grass is very flat and undetailed though. I'd expect to actually see the indivisible blades in a current-gen game. I'm not happy to see the Forces model back. Also... Flynn is writing! It could be fun to roam seamlessly full throttle and fight constructs, as long as those don't end up as joke you can easily bulldoze in a matter of seconds. Perhaps I've just been burnt out on the modern Sonic outings lately, Lost World, Forces, Team Sonic Racing, they were all subpar and not at all entertaining personally. Currently with what little we have seen and know about it, it's looking like a hard pass until it's bargain bin material unless something impressive is shown down the line. I regret paying full price for all the titles mentioned above and I don't want to be caught out again. Like imagine if this was shown first instead of what we got at Sonic Central. Like I get why we didn't but still. I'm really interested in this game but i'm not sold yet till I see some actual gameplay. Optimistic isn't the right word, because that would imply I think it would be good. There's a lot more hands involved that affects the writing of a game. So I will just say I am confident. Implying that I am open for disappointment, but confident there's less of a chance for it there. But I am excited to see how Flynn's writing extends into the games. It looks like it might even be an adventure again, just like I've always wanted. Ian Flynn writing for it is even better. I wish I could feel more secure in my excitement but Forces must have knocked me down harder than I thought. Thank God, there was no "Classic Sonic ruins everything" moment like there was with the Forces trailer. People are apparently upset that the Forces model is being used but I literally couldn't tell and wouldn't have known if it wasn't pointed out. Without seeing if it'll matter in-game I also don't currently see why I should care. So, as a result, I have no complaints. Just the ususl apprehension that comes with every Sonic game release based on past experiences. It's interesting to see a Sonic trailer and not feel instantly concerned though. That's a nice feeling.
