Sonic 1 Coming to Tesla Cars (Seriously)

This just came in on the wire, figured I’d share it. Elon Musk just kind of tweeted it out there (I’m not sharing that tweet because, like most things he says, it’s part of an absolute clown show of a series of tweets/opinions) but SEGA sent out a press release so I guess it’s confirmed now. No images though annoyingly, but hey we all know what Sonic 1 looks like.

Get ready, Sonic fans! SEGA has just announced a partnership with Tesla to bring Sonic the Hedgehog 1, the game that started it all, to Tesla’s in-car gaming console for both existing and new models. Passengers turn into players as they race at lightning speed across classic zones to defeat enemies on a mission to save the world from the evil Dr. Eggman, all in the comfort of their own car!

SEGA is excited to partner with Tesla to bring this iconic Sonic title to their extensive gaming library. Sonic the Hedgehog 1 will be available in all Tesla models around the world via the built-in display screen in conjunction with a handheld controller connected through the car’s USB ports. Now no matter where you travel, Sonic can come along with you!

Now you too can run over helpless pedestrians while distracting yourself playing Sonic! Break the speed barrier AND the Highway Code at the same time!

Guys, don't buy this. You can get Sonic 1 for less than £40,000 if you know where to look.

But how else am I supposed to play Sonic 1 in the car, other than my SEGA Nomad, Game Boy Advance, Nintendo DS, PSP, Flip Phone, IPhone, IPod, Android phone, IPad, Android tablet, laptop, 3DS, and Switch??

You really don't want to play the one on the Game Boy Advance

Imagine playing the game while in a Tesla car with Escape from the City playing...

"Rolling around at the speed of sound..."

Then a GUN truck chases after you out of nowhere because you are driving and playing at the same time.

Good luck getting away from the authorities.

Finally. A proper Sonic title on the go, no less!

Sighhhs I can just see it now. Just me, and my new bad boy just running all night upstairs in my room neatly stacked with my other 1000 Sonic 1 collections for another all-nighter through these zones just like the good ol' days. I can't wait to do it all over again. I've been dying to do this, and I wouldn't have it any other way.

This will probably be the Whitehead mobile remastered version. They won't port it to consoles but they'll put it in a car ;)

I wonder how my fathers generation feel about the fact that my generation (and the generation below mine) consider "It has a built-in video game console" something to actually consider when buying a car.

Don't get me wrong, I fuckin love my generation, but I can basically feel all the white-bearded men slowly shaking their heads in dissapointment.

They walked to school in the snow back and forth like dumbasses. Who cares what they think?

That's a joke, by the way. Joking on the internet is dangerous these days

trying to play a video game and drive at the same time is the scariest thing i can think of even with a car that drives itself (dubiously)

Sonic 1 on a Tesla is a Nice Idea, but I don't have a Tesla, and in the future, I will buy a Tesla just to play Sonic 1 which is a True Classic.
