IDW Sonic Prime comic tie-in

In 2022 as the Sonic movie sequel looms, IDW will finally be doing a comic related to the Sonic movie universe. Given that and the fact the previous comic (Archie) covered the previous Sonic shows (AoSTH, SatAM, Underground, X and Boom) alongside the OVA to a degree while doing stuff with the game material, not to mention that Sonic Boom was the last Sonic show tie-in comic done, this begs the question; Will SEGA let IDW do a Sonic Prime comic to tie into the Sonic Prime TV show? If that happens, what would we love to see in this Sonic Prime comic? Ian did say it was possible in an episode of the Bumblekast back in May of 2021, depending on what SEGA wanted. So, possible Sonic Prime comic tie-in, what could possibly happen in it?

Sonic will be in it, he'll face adversity, either resolved or conclusion will be promised within show.

At this point I don't think I can speculate more.

Going on all other tie-in we got and will get for Sonic alternate universe : it have high chances to be some stories using the base premise of the show, but not connecting to much with the actual plot.

(Of course, if we actually get a tie-in, we might not have one)

I'd assume if they did a Prime comic it'd probably be like Sonic X and Sonic Boom and be a set of one and done's with occasional multi-parters. The 2012 TMNT cartoon tie-in comic was like that too. It could also just be a few Miniseries every now and then like IDW's Transformers Prime comics.

It'd be funny if a Prime comic adaptation ended up becoming the Sonic Universe of IDW!Sonic. At the very least, it'd be nice enough to justify having another book, considering all the 4 part spin-off arcs we get, they might as well, right?

Like, use it to expand more of whatever the show will present.
