Film References in Sonic Games

thought this might be an interesting topic for a thread

it seems that ever since Sonic was created they wanted him to feel very cinematic. There are a lot of homages and references to movies in Sonic games and I wanna see if we can compile all of them.

Jaws (1975) - Drowning theme

definitely very inspired

Star Wars (1977) - Death Egg

gotta be the most obvious homage of all

Back to the Future (1985) - Sonic CD

I don't know if the time travel in CD actually was an intentional homage to BttF but I always got the impression it was (also the achievement in the re-release is called "88 miles per hour" lol)

Raiders of the Lost Ark (1981) - Boulder Dash

Godzilla vs. MechaGodzilla (1974) - MechaSonic

Independece Day (1996) - White House Explosion

Shadow the Hedgehog is a very weird game...

Taxi Driver (1976) - You Talkin' to Me?
