LATER BUDDY

I loved how the lively rhythm suddenly kicked in at 0:34 seconds. It was so random and so unexpected, but it really enhanced the atmosphere and added more emotion to the tune...

Instead of imagining someone who is depressed and helpless I am able to imagine someone who is depressed yet determined to fight back against whoever/whatever made them upset. ;)

1 - Axesome

2 - Remove the Bongos alltogether or lower their volume

3 - The flutes a lil Loud... could lower the volume by like... 2-4% See how it fleshes into the guitars...

4 - Bend the Flute note at 00:29 Instead of playing the next note

5 - Around 00:32 (and a half) on the Flute (The last note) Try slowly Pitch bending Down as the note fades out.

6 - The Main Song after that is a lil active... I can't Pick out everything that's going on and it sounds like you could bring back a few instruments to keep it less hectic sounding while maintaing the rhythm and spirit.

-> This is indeed the greatest thing I've heard you create to date. And it may be because I have a thing for Panflutes and Ande's music... but who knows.

(Can I have that Flute?)

----> Also, I'd recomend (if you havn't allready which would be unuasual, but I'll mention it anyways) Looking into the Soundtrack for the anime "Wolfs Rain" - as well as one of my favorite groups - Alturas http://www.alturasmusic.com/recordings/index.html

Remember - Wind Instruments (Especially Flutes like that) are all about Breath Control.

Oh, and I've been trying to figure out what this one instrument is, and maybe you'll know. It makes this real "boing!" noise alot like in:

It's that very first sound you hear and it repeats on from there. If you could name off some other cool instruments in there or just some random ones like a few flutes, that'd be awesome, =D. I'd really like to broaden my instrumentation, <3.

Wolf Instinct is awesome. I love the more quiet intro... moving to a more fast-paced rhythm. I love how the flute behaves, I love every single note that it plays. Great work, Blur!

I loved that song too! :3

It sounds a lot like film music - it reminds of a 'quest sequence' a little. Like when Simba (I'm a nerd) goes back to his homelandin The Lion King. Yeah, replace that scene with a wolf in a forest instead of a lion with desert and there ya go.

Come to think of it, yeah, the tune would fit perfectly into the scene from The Lion King where the grown-up Simba was confronting his uncle to avenge his murdered father...

If you ever make a YouTube video of this tune then you should definitely include that scene from The Lion King in it.

Err... But in that case the title of the tune might need to be changed from "Wolf Instinct" into either "Animal Instinct" or "Primal Instinct" or something along those lines. ;)

Well, thank heavens! It's about time that you came back. Even I was starting to get worried...

Anyways, sweet tune. I adore how the ringing of the xylophone mixes in with the steady drum beat. And the piano provides a soothing background ambience.

But most importantly, I appreciate the fact that you released a lyric-less version of the entire track before throwing the lyrics inside. Thank you. This was very thoughtful and considerate of you.

Thank you very much. :D

Do make more.

This looks really nice! I love what you did with the piano at the beginning! I can't wait to see more!

And I'm glad you're better now! :D

Wow Blur, this is really really good =). It is definitely different from your other stuff, but I still really enjoy this. Looking forward to hearing that song you were telling me about in your comment on my profile =D!

But excuse me while I really spaz out at how AWESOME the portion with the tempo change is, where it gets really fast! I really enjoy that part a lot ^_^! The cool ska-ish guitar at the end is really awesome as well, I love that tone you've got there :)

I really think that this tune deserves to be played somewhere inside a Hollywood movie... At least in the ending credits section of the movie, but more preferably during a scene which features some kind of long roadtrip across some kind of valley.

It's just this much atmospheric all on its own that I can't even picture it with lyrics being added at all. There's no lyrics required here, IMO.

And I don't know what else I can possibly say.

I am probably the only one that misses the bongos xD.

But, there is one other tiny little thing that I think could improve this, make the guitar a little bit more hearable. Everything sounds really fantastic bro, but I'd love love LOVE to be able to hear the guitarwork a little better than I can ^_^!

Everything else sounds great, this is one of my fave songs from you. It sounds like it'd fit in a platformer game imo.

Perhaps one day you & Huepow & Thirteen will meet IRL, and go to some recording studio, and sign some kind of contract, and then you'll become known worldwide as a band called The Werewolves!

(I'm assuming that there currently isn't any other band with such a name. Cause otherwise, you'd be faced with a copyright violation.)

Or actually, since the name The Werewolves sounds too plain and too generic, here's a more inventive idea for a band name: Melodic Furries.

Haha, I wouldn't consider myself a furry though =).

I rather like the name Wolfos for your own stuff Blur! Keep The Animated Hero, but keep that as the name of your first project, which was built around an 'animated hero' =). This is a new project for you! If you ever want any guest vocals on anything feel free to ask me as well, I'd be more than happy to pitch in =)

A bit off the topic - I was actually trying to find some way of naming my side-project something referencing the game Twilight Princess, but nothing would fit with the word Bats. Twili Bats reminds me waaaaay too much of Cancer Bats xD; If you have any ideas Blur shoot them my way!
