This topic was good and got turned into Sonic Frontiers to Receive Animated Prologue Starring Knuckles at some point.

Like the past couple of games, Sonic Frontiers is getting an animated short.

This one takes place before the start of the game.

The only thing we know so far is that Knuckles makes an appearance

Yeah, between that and the whole 6 seconds of Shadow cruising around green hill that serve Sonic Prime. There were some choices made with this central.

You know, I'm just now realizing this might have all been to show us that they remembered the Master Emerald exists. The game canon hasn't touched that thing since SA2.

The weather is bad.

The Master Emerald is green.

Knuckles is a Sonic character.

  • The title was changed to Sonic Frontiers: Prologue Animation Announced - Coming Soon

I can't believe Sonic Frontiers was a Sonic Adventure remake this whole time.

Unamusingly baron reveal aside, I'm looking forward to it.

I like Knuckles and I like rain so things are positive so far.

How cool would it be if this game actually took place on Angel Island. Sky sanctuary would be awesome!

If we're counting promotional material like a short, Sonic Forces: Stress Test also acknowledged the Master Emerald.

It's funny because Ian Flynn was handed the plot synopsis for these comics and was told to just write the script. He said he personally decided to throw in a line about why Eggman didn't just grab the Master Emerald.

Nowadays, it's a hard rule that Knuckles isn't even allowed to leave the island without a good reason. Not even to help fight the Zombots.

Things are changing. For how long and how far-reaching it'll be? That's still to be determined, I guess.

Fair enough, those comics are canon. I forgot about that one.
