After almost 30 years those two will have a new movie. Releasing at 23th of July (Sonic's Birthday), the movie will take place after "Do America", Beavis and Butt-Head will travel in time from 1998 to the actual days (Poor guys).

The movie will also be the start for the new cartoon that will also be avaiable in Paramount+.

I perfectly understand why they're doing the time travel plot, because it's the only way the characters can remain themselves in the current year. To have Beavis and Butt-Head be Beavis and Butt-Head as we know them and ALSO have them be zoomers is impossible. If any cartoon teenagers are tied to a specific decade, it's them. Like, the only way to have them be believable teenagers of the 2020's would be to do a total upgrade on their interests and pastimes, especially if they were to remain accurate parodies of todays teen generation the same way they were accurate parodies of the 90's teen generation. They would have to start using the internet, and not just for porn either. To be the spot on parodies of a generation of adolescents today like they were back in the day, they would have to start caring about social media. "He, he... Hey Butt-Head, I'm making an aswesome TikTok...". I cringe at the mere thought.

By having them travel from 1998 to today in an instant however they can remain how fans have always known them, and the premise of the series is no longer "watch these teenage idiots do idiotic things" but rather "watch these gen X teenage idiots try to live in the modern world among zoomer teenagers". Sounds funny to me!

I've never watched Beavis and Butt-Head. But I see this as a potentially good jumping in point for new viewers and I'm likely to check it out myself.

Haha, this should be a wild adventure for the two of them! Haven't watched that in 11 years. Used to watch it on MTV back in the late 90's and early 2000's. Good old times.
