SEGA Archives-M2 Music Memorial Album Releases April 27th

This release will contain 74 created by M2's Sound Staff created for the re-releases M2 and SEGA have released from SEGA Ages, SEGA Ages Online and SEGA 3D Reprint Project on two CDs.

It's price is ¥3,200 (¥3,520 with tax) or $24.62 in USD, though I'm unsure if an international release will happen.

Hard to say I see any appeal. Seems very niche, which probably will remain Japan exclusive. Probably the most interesting are the FM versions of Alex Kidd in Miracle World and Fantasy Zone tracks, which even then, do I even remember these being any good?

Out of the artists, Naofumi Hataya (SEGA AGES Virtua Racing), of course, composed the Japanese OST of Sonic CD. Tokuhiko Uwabo (Alex Kidd and Space Harrier), worked on Sonic 3 & Knuckles as well Alex Kidd In Miracle World, Phantasy Star and a handful of other Genesis and Mega Drive games.

Had to move the topic as it sadly doesn’t seem Sonic or Sonic Team adjacent. But still this is really cool, I love niche esoteric soundtrack releases like these relating to SEGA.

Bit of a shame that it only goes as far back as PS3/360 though, but looking at the track list I don’t see much in the way of actual game music (mostly menu music) so it’s probably redundant to go that far back.

I still wish the SEGA AGES series would continue. Things were just getting good on Switch with Virtua Racing.
