SEGA Saturn fans waiting patiently for a sequel to the Sonic Team classic NiGHTS into dreams... will be in for some bad news today. According to a recent report, the developer has ruled out a follow-up to Yuji Naka's dreamy masterpiece.

The report, found on The Magic Box, simply reads, "Sonic Team announced they do not have plans to develop the sequel of NiGHTS." Seems pretty definitive, although the website provides no further details.

Hopefully one day, Sonic Team will change its mind. For now, it likely has enough projects going on anyway to worry about NiGHTS, but there are loads of fans out there so fingers crossed there will be a sequel in the future.
