Should humans have "powers"?

(Wait. Ugh. Why is visiting TSS making me start to contemplate what's under Eggman's pants? This is horrible.)

No it's not. I have the same thought fly through my head around 100 times a day. So just to let you know, we have group meetings on the topic every month to overcome the addiction along with it. :P

And I interjected my wit into this forum today by adding no redeeming value to the topic at hand whatsoever. Well, it seems that my quota for the day is filled right now. Yay me!

Eh, I'm not too fond of the idea of humans having powers, but just keep them as NPC, well written with good char development, and serve a purpose for the plot if making them supporting main char. Or else we're gonna have humans like in Sonic X where none of them are interesting, and just boring (and CHRIS  ). Heck, this sounds like a throwback to the new char issue for Sonic games.

Don't we have enough humans in the Sonic world as it is though? I mean they make up 95% of the world population even though they're NPC while Sonic and his handful of companions seem make up the rest. I really want to have a Sonic world with 1/2 population of humans and 1/2 population of anthros/Mobians. This humans with power idea, if playable though hopefully not, would probably show how humans overcrowd (and maybe overshadow) the anthro species/race and make it seem like Sonic's people are dying off, and have just more humans as possible plot devices. Goodness forbid that we will receive another Chris or Elise char.

Just have them as NPCs and that's it.

Regarding this "what's under Eggman's pants?" question, if the bulge on said pants is anything to go by, then the answer is... nothing.

I bet poor old Eggy suffers from horrible pingas-envy. :P

Needs Vi-Egg-ra.

...Okay, bad joke.

But more seriously, I wonder if a quick adrenaline rush lends Eggy any extra abilities in his time of need. I'm thinking of his escapes from Sonic at the end of the classic games, and the train punching from Riders.

In contrast to his 06' version where he is apparently by human proportions, appears to be "well endowed." The cartoon version just leaves more to the imagination.

Yes, it's Kintobor time, the only person on this site that dares to tread into topics where others fear to go. Next up: what color is Nega's underwear? We will have two experts join in on the panel to discuss this topic. Following that will be an insight on Sonic's foot odor, and a warning on why you shouldn't let anyone live next to tentacle water monsters.

But joking aside, Robotnik apparently seems to be able to conjure up a speed boost whenever possible, the problem is that he might not be able to keep it up (his speed you pervs. :P ) for extremely long distances. If we were to go by Mario and Sonic stats, his stamina is low-small enough for him to run at a top speed for a short distance before his gauge runs out and he becomes fatigued. He does have some amazing physical abilities compared to normal humans, but it might be more of an ideal that he "chooses to use them" than having lackluster abilities in battle. He is probably so proud of his machines, that he would rather use his brain as a means to defeat his nemesis than his fists, or any other physical means whatsoever except on the terms when escaping. It could also be chalked up to his well-bred nature of "being a gentleman." Remember, Robotnik actually held his tongue in Shadow the Hedgehog when it came to profanities, which was unusual for an adult character of his status in the game.

Except South Island has at least two cities on it, Spring Yard and Starlight.

Westside Island also has a city in the background of Chemical Plant, as well as the whole of Casino Night (Which honors Sonic with emblems and his own neon namesake all over town).

This is why I used the words BLATANT and HUMAN. As Phos screen-saver-ly demonstrates, said cities could have been Mobian or (my preferred version) uninhabited Eggman city-factories a' la Scrap Brain Zone and Bad Future Sonic CD.

As for the Death Egg, you're right that it menaces the whole planet, but I feel it's kind of like Hugo Drax's James Bond Moonraker gambit back in the early games - Eggman is a little-known villain known (at best) to a couple of South Seas microstates, and the launch and operation of the Death Egg from some secluded island somewhere (and later, some floating island somehwhere) is his first attempt to enter the global big leagues.

And when that repeatedly doesn't work, he cracks out Chaos and sails over to San Fransisco Station Square.

A thought, Frozen Nitrogren.

Eggman seems well-known already by Sonic Adventure. NPCs mention the character by name, and before the Egg Walker fight, a crackly-voiced fellow screeches "OH NO! IT'S ROBOTNIIIIIK!"

I think at this point, Eggman was already quite world-famous. Meaning that his previous exploits around the globe indeed attracted the attention of human society; Whether said human society was on the islands of the early games (As I think they were) is up to your discretion, but it's undeniable that SA1 was not Eggman's first scheme to attract the attention of humans; Humans who were already very familiar with the man and his quest for global conquest.

Somehow you have to account for this.

^ I always guessed those cities were Robotnik's, populated by his workers maybe. But you're right about Adventure, I'd say Eggman made his name about the same time Sonic did. There's also a kid in the Station Square train station who seems to know that Sonic's saved the world multiple times. Saved it from Eggman of course.

This I did not recall. Fair enough. Consider my premise withdrawn. ^^;;

Some random guy who doesn't even have a name makes a throwaway remark that maybe implies Robotnik has attacked human cities before, stop the presses, this changes everything.

That's like asking Bram Stoker to account for Castlevania Bloodlines. For that to matter, the creators of Sonic 1 would have had to already had Sonic Adventure 1 in mind. I don't consider later games to dictate what took place in the early ones
