Keith Apicary of internet fame with his video series Talking Classics has pitted Sonic against Mario. Sonic comes out on top in his books though he seems to have a frustrating addiction to Mario too

I disagree entirely.

Both franchises are well-constructed, fun, and enjoyable game series. Both are prime examples of excellent classic platformers, and as such, to call either "obviously" superior is a discredit to the other.

While I prefer the Mario series as a whole, I obviously think Sonic's pretty awesome too (I don't think I would be on this forum, otherwise.).

Anyway, I found that pretty funny, if not weird.

I love both series equaly, just in different ways. As stated above they are both well-crafted, fun, and great games.
