Game is still out... Whooo.

Well anyways, Remedy released a teaser for something-or-another live action for Alan Wake.

Also the DLC is incoming, and now out in Japan.

And released, confirmed to be a live-action music video to one of the songs in the game.

Not sure if I'm gonna bother with the Alan Wake DLC myself; the game's progression and ending seemed fine to me as it was, I'd feel I'd be cheapening the story by going back for the DLC on this one. Maybe if they add a new gameplay element, be it a cool boss or new Taken.

Well the DLC comes free and it's supposed to further link the first and second upcoming game, though the gameplay shows some new enemies including these flying books and Taken who turn invisible along with a lot of new gameplay mechanics like an expanded word system where things come to life and a more surreal world which comes to life from Alan's mind as he gets deeper into madness.

Hmmm... that does make it sound a bit more appealing, I suppose I will have to pick it up sometime then! I was just worried it'd be a "Oh look, another manuscript page, and this one says..." and then the DLC dealio. I guess I should give the devs more credit, the game was pretty fantastic.

First of all I absolutely loved the Writer DLC, though I am guessing no one else here played it. Ended up being my favorite episode in the game.

http://www.vg247.com/2010/10/19/remedy-seeks-producer-for-aaa-project-lists-360-as-only-platform/

And looks like Remedy might be making the sequel. If you completed Alan Wake The Writer you might of saw this coming. If anyone didn't *coughcoughEveryoneWhoMightLookAtThisTopic* you can watch the ending and final boss of it here:

I played it and I loved it but the DLC was a bit disappointing story-wise, but you really did noticed that they did pump up their engine quite a bit(in the DLC).

They did, and I was pleasantly surprised with the story in the DLC since I was expecting the same amount as The Signal and they had some added to it. I especially loved

The scene where Thomas Zane is answering Alan's questions under the bridge, the retelling of events in the main game in the spinning wheel, the scene with the TV Alan and Hartman mirage talking to each other in the dark office, Alan's resolution with himself before making it to the lighthouse, the Barry Twist and the ending.

So... yeah I was satisfied with the story, and I knew they couldn't move forward events so they did good with what they had in my opinion.

Bright Falls Season 2, then Alan Wake Season 2. My bet.

I actually thought of this, but on the official Alan Wake Facebook page they officially say it's a new "Alan Wake title" as opposed to something else, and this was leaked by a 3D animator listing helping in making "in-game Alan Wake 2 cinematics". Two might of been a codename, but it sounds like it is definitely a game of some sort. I am guessing some sort of spin-off or Director's Cut.

That new Alan Wake project sounds a lot like a prequel to me. Presumably any kind of prequel wouldn't follow Alan at all, so we can disregard his King quote* and get on with the important question of

who wrote who into existence?

* "Stephen King once wrote, ‘Nightmares exist outside of logic, and there’s little fun to be had in explanations; they’re antithetical to the poetry of fear’."
